    • The joint comprises a first member defining a tripod connected to a first shaft and forming three trunnions. Part-spherical rollers are respectively slidably and rotatably mounted on the trunnions. A second member connected to a second shaft defines three raceways in which the rollers are received. The raceways are each formed by a pair of part-circular sectioned grooves the mean line of which is an arc of a circle centered preferably in the vicinity of the axis of the second shaft. The tripod is rigid with a shaft section which has, in a zone close to the tripod, a substantially triangular cross-sectional shape approximately constituting the envelope of the free edge of the second member when the joint operates with an angular displacement of the first and second shafts close to the maximum possible angle.

    • An axially fixed homokinetic coupling with limited transverse freedom of movement. The coupling essentially comprises a constant velocity three-arm star-type coupling with rollers mounted on a first shaft. The rollers are mounted for rolling movement in pairs of grooves formed in a socket fixed to a second shaft. A retaining member prevents the axial movement of the coupling and includes a sleeve surrounding the first shaft and a spherical collar. The spherical collar cooperates with a spherical portion of a casing secured to the socket. The concave free end of the first shaft is received in a convex part. A spring disposed between the closed end of the socket and the convex part maintains the convex part in cooperation with the concave free end of the first shaft and maintains the spherical part of the casing is very close overlying relationship with the spherical collar of the retaining member to effect a fluidtight seal therebetween. The assembly enables transverse displacement of the shafts to compensate for slight differences in their alignment.

    • A constant velocity joint, wherein all rolling elements annularly held by a tool are inserted into an inner diameter part from one end opposite to the flange part of a roller member along the axis of the inner diameter part of the roller member or the rolling elements remaining after one rolling element is removed from all rolling elements are charged into the inner diameter part and the removed one rolling element is inserted into a clearance between the rolling elements from the other end along the axis of the inner diameter part. After all rolling elements are fitted into the inner diameter part of the rolling member, a snap ring is fitted into an annular groove formed at the end part of the inner diameter part on the opposite side of the flange part to hold the rolling elements between the flange part and the snap ring.
