摘要： A carbon nanotube (CNT)/polymer film or CNT/polymer composite structure containing CNTs, arranged uniformly in a randomly oriented distribution in the polymer matrix. The CNT sheet is manufactured by applying a highly dispersed CNT-polymer-solvent suspension, mixed using ultrasonication, over a carrier, using a coating process, and drying to form the CNT/polymer film. The CNT film is useful in making CNT composite laminates and structures having utility for electro-thermal heating, deicing, shielding for wire & cable, thermal interface pads, energy storage, heat dissipation, conductive composites, antennas, reflectors, and electromagnetic environmental effects (E3), such as lightning strike protection, EMP protection, directed energy protection, and EMI shielding in a variety of form factors such as sheets, roll stocks, and tapes.

摘要： A matrix material dispersed with one or more susceptor structures can be formed into a feedstock for an additive manufacturing process. The one or more susceptor structures can be excited by an energy field such as an electric field, a magnetic field, an electromagnetic field, or any combination thereof, to produce heat. The heat that is produced can be transferred to the matrix material that surrounds the one or more susceptor structures to provide heat treatment to the matrix material. The heat treatment can improve the material and mechanical properties of three dimensional objects formed from the feedstock.

The X is selected from a group consisting of arylene, transition metal, inorganic oxide, and silsesquioxane. The values oft ranges from 1 to 10, y ranges from 1 to 200 and z ranges from 1 to 1,000. The elastomeric materials prepared from modified silicone resins display robust mechanical properties following prolonged exposure to high temperatures (e.g., 316° C. or higher).

摘要： The invention relates to colorant compositions, and aqueous latex paints or other water-borne coatings made from them, which have a mitigated environmental impact. Levels of solvents, additives and impurities comprising volatile non-aqueous constituents, alkylphenol ethoxylates (and derivatives thereof), crystalline silica, and/or formaldehyde are decreased relative to those typical of preceding generations of colorants and tinted aqueous latex paints and other water-borne coatings. On the other hand, paint-performance as indicated by any of Stormer viscosity stabilization, rheological profile flow/leveling and sag resistance, water sensitivity and color transfer resistance is comparable to a paint in which the aforementioned solvents, additives and impurities are still present.

The methods comprise preparing a melted polymer mixture comprising a thermoplastic polymer and a magnetic filler dispersed in the thermoplastic polymer, molding the melted polymer mixture and applying a magnetic field to a portion of the melted polymer mixture to form a functionally graded polymer material. The resulting functionally graded polymer material has a magnetic filler gradient formed through a thickness of the material.
