摘要： A direct injection controlled auto-ignition engine is operated at steady state, within a homogeneous charge compression-ignition (HCCI) load range and with fuel-air-diluent mixtures at predetermined conditions, for each speed and load, of engine control inputs, including at least fueling mass flow rate, injection timing (FI), spark timing (SI) and exhaust recompression obtained by negative valve overlap (NVO). During load change rates below a predetermined threshold, SI, FI and NVO change rates are synchronized to current changes in the fueling mass flow rate. For fast load increases above the threshold, the cylinder charge is temporarily enriched by increasing the percentage of residual gas or reducing the percentage of fresh air mass in the charge sufficiently to maintain auto-ignition temperature during the load change. This may be done by delaying NVO action for a predetermined speed-dependent number of engine cycles. At very low loads, stable fuel rate reduction may require an alternate method involving deceleration fuel cut-off followed by a step change during refire.

摘要： An internal combustion engine includes a main catalyst disposed in a main passage and a bypass catalyst disposed in a bypass passage bypassing the main passage on an upstream side of the main catalyst. The bypass passage has a smaller transverse cross-sectional area than the main passage. The internal combustion engine further includes a passage open/close unit, a residual gas amount changing unit, and a controller. The passage open/close unit is disposed in a portion of the main passage bypassed by the bypass passage to switch between an open state and a closed state. The residual gas amount changing unit is configured to change an amount of residual gas inside a combustion chamber. The controller is configured to control the residual gas amount changing unit when a passage opening condition for switching the passage open/close unit from the closed state to the open state is satisfied.

摘要： A catalyst (22) suitable for reduction of the NOx in an exhaust gas by ammonia in the presence of excess oxygen is arranged in the exhaust passage (18, 21) of an internal combustion engine. An aqueous urea solution is fed through a flow control valve (33) to the inside of the exhaust passage (21) upstream of the catalyst (22). When the temperature of the catalyst (22) is low, a large amount of the aqueous urea solution is fed to make the urea contained in the aqueous urea solution be stored in the catalyst (22). When the engine is accelerated and the temperature of the catalyst (22) rises, ammonia is released at a little at a time from the inside of the catalyst (22) and the NOx in the exhaust gas is reduced by the released ammonia.

摘要： The system is meant to heat the intake air in internal combustion Diesel engines and is based on the use of a resistor having two segments (1) and (1′) joined to each other on one end (2), the segments (1) and (1′) being made of different metal alloys to form a thermocouple that allows using the module determined by this resistor with a control circuit to automatically regulate the temperature of the intake air, as well as to know the flow rate entering each cylinder from a measurement of the amount of heat supplied to the air flow entering each cylinder of the engine. The system will be disposed in correspondence with the intake duct (4) of the corresponding engine cylinder (3), where the union (2) of the segments (1) and (1′) which form the resistor must be located at the centre of said duct (4), where the air flow is greatest.
