    • The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for obtaining an artificial alveolus for a pin with a spheric head supporting at least one tooth root or, in connection with a similar device, a bridge carrying more teeth, the apparatus being provided with at least one root assembly. The artificial alveolus is formed by a body with two portions integral with each other. Between the spheric head pin and the alveolus an elastic covering is provided and is capable of being deformed in order to allow springing and slight oscillations of the spheric head pin with respect to the alveolus. Each root assembly is obtained in a body provided with a vertical threaded bore opened upwards. The lower end of the body extends downwards in a shaped cavity divided in sections forming external triangular tips and internal shaped guide tangs among which a little pin is inserted in order to cause the rotation of the tips outwards, said apparatus consisting of titanium, tantalium or other material that does not give rise to the phenomenon of rejection from the organism.

    • The present invention relates to an implant-abutment comprising: a fixture, which is coupled to an alveolar bone and comprises on the inside thereof a female tapered part having a tapered shape; an abutment, which has one side comprising a male tapered part, which has a shape corresponding to the female tapered part so as to be coupled to the female tapered part in an engaging manner, and the other side having a prosthesis coupled thereto; and an elastic part provided between the female tapered part, and the male tapered part so as for the abutment to move between a locking position, in which the abutment stays coupled to the fixture and is inhibited from moving away from the alveolar bone, and a sinking position, in which the abutment moves and sinks toward the alveolar bone by the occlusal force of occluding teeth. Configured as such, the present invention allows slight movement under a predetermined external, force by the occlusal force of teeth while stably maintaining the state of being coupled to the fixture and allows the abutment to be separated and easily retrieved from the fixture, if necessary, by the application of an external force equal to or greater than a target coupling force whereby the fixture and abutment stay coupled.

    • Shape memory dental retention systems which facilitate the adjustment or removal of an oral appliance, e.g., a crown or bridge, from a reconfigurable abutment assembly are described. The adjustable abutment assembly may be secured to an anchoring implant bored into the bones within the mouth. The abutment assembly has a projecting abutment portion with one or more shape memory material sleeves or plates or elements extending along the abutment. Each of the sleeves has a length with at least one curved or arcuate portion. Energy may be applied to the elements such that the arcuate portion flattens to allow for the oral appliance to be placed thereupon while removal of the energy allows the elements to reconfigure into its curved configuration thereby locking the oral appliance to the abutment. Removal of the oral appliance may be effected by reapplication of energy to the elements.

    • A two-part dental implant includes distal and proximal stem portions which in an interconnected condition at least indirectly adjoin each other at a connecting location and have mutually facing surfaces in the region of the connecting location. A sealing body is provided between the mutually facing surfaces of the distal and proximal stem portions. The sealing body has sealing surfaces which face towards the mutually facing surfaces and which in the interconnected condition of the two stem portions bear sealingly against the mutually facing surfaces thereof. In addition, mutually facing abutment surfaces are provided between the distal and proximal stem portions. These mutually facing abutment surfaces bear against each other in the final assembled dental implant and limit the degree of approach of the two mutually facing surfaces of the stem portions between which the sealing body is arranged.
