    • A multilayer capacitor is constructed and arranged to significantly reduce an equivalent serial inductance (ESL) and includes a capacitor body in which first and second inner electrodes extend, respectively, so as to connect first and second end surfaces and first and second side surfaces. First and second end surface terminal electrodes are provided on the first and second end surfaces. Also, first and second side surface terminal electrodes are provided on the first and second side surfaces, respectively. The widthwise dimension of the capacitor body is within a range of about 0.9 to about 1.1 times of the lengthwise dimension. Also, when a represents a lengthwise dimension and a widthwise dimension of the capacitor body, and b represents widths of the first inner electrodes and the second inner electrodes, it is preferable that a and b are determined so as to have the relationship of: 0.45≦b/a≦0.90.

    • The present invention is to provide a monolithic capacitor for reducing an equivalent series inductance of a monolithic capacitor. The external terminal electrodes are respectively provided on four corners of the capacitor body. External terminal electrodes can also be provided on the side surfaces of the capacitor body. The first inner electrode is connected to two adjacent external corner terminal electrodes and preferably to the external side terminal electrode. The second inner electrode faces the first electrode through a dielectric layer and is connected to other two adjacent external corner terminal electrodes as well as to the external side terminal electrode. The current flowing through the inner electrodes is directed to a variety of directions, and since the current flow in the corner parts of the inner electrodes is smooth, the magnetic fluxes generated in association with the current are cancelled out, thereby reducing the equivalent series inductance.

    • A capacitor comprising: a porous sintered body 2 consisting mainly of titanium; a dielectric film 3 which is formed on the surface of the sintered body and which consists mainly of a perovskite type composite oxide having a general formula of ATiO.sub.3 ; a conductor or semiconductor which is formed on the surface of the dielectric film; and a counter-electrode which conducts to the conductor or semiconductor and which faces the sintered body; wherein the porosity of the porous sintered body is 20% or more. The capacitor is fabricated by immersing the porous sintered body in an aqueous solution containing strontium or barium, by performing a hydrothermal treatment at a specified temperature to form a composite oxide film having the above-described general formula as a dielectric film 3 on the surface of the sintered body; by forming a conductor or semiconductor electrode 4 on the surface of the oxide film; and by forming a counter electrode which conducts to the electrode and which faces the sintered body.

    • A laminated chip-type LC filter for use as a noise filter is obtained by carrying out the following steps: dielectric layers are laminated on the top and bottom of a magnetic material layer, forming an inductor portion by providing conductive lines inside the magnetic material layer and forming capacitors by providing at least two layers of parallel internal electrodes inside both of the dielectric layers. External electrodes are provided at both ends of the inductor portion. Intermediate external electrodes are provided at both lateral sides in the middle part of the dielectric layers and the magnetic layer. The inductor portion is connected to the external electrodes. The internal electrodes are connected to the intermediate external electrodes and to the external electrodes, respectively. By making the intermediate external electrode the ground, the internal electrodes are grounded so that stray capacitance does not arise between the internal electrodes thus causing less deterioration of the insertion loss characteristic in the high-frequency area.

    • An LC composite component comprises a laminated structure which is formed by stacking first and second inductor layers while holding a capacitor layer between the same. The first and second inductor layers comprise magnetic members and conductor lines formed inside the magnetic members respectively. The capacitor layer comprises a dielectric member and first and second internal electrodes which are provided within the dielectric member to be opposite to each other. First and second external electrodes are provided on first and second opposite end surfaces of the laminated structure, while a third external electrode is formed on at least one of first and second opposite side surfaces. First ends of the conductor lines provided in the first and second inductor layers are connected to the first and second external electrodes respectively, while second ends of the conductor lines are electrically connected with each other through the second internal electrode provided in the capacitor layer. The first internal electrode provided in the capacitor layer is electrically connected with the third external electrode. Thus, obtained is an LC composite component which has two inductors interposed in signal lines and a capacitor formed across the junction between the inductors and the ground, to be employed as a noise filter.
