    • A toroidal-type continuously variable transmission, has a first continuously variable transmission mechanism and a second continuously variable transmission mechanism: wherein the first and second continuously variable transmission mechanisms are disposed coaxially with each other; the first and second input disks are connected together so as to be rotated in synchronization with each other; the first and second output disks are formed as a unified type output disk including traction surfaces on the two side surfaces thereof; on the side portion at the outer-most outside diameter of the unified type output disk, there is formed a datum plane serving as a machining datum when the traction surfaces are processed; and, an operation for finishing the datum plane is carried out after the unified type output disk is heat treated.

    • A toroidal type continuously variable transmission is arranged to support one disc on the input side, facing a pressure device, on the outer circumference of an input shaft through a needle bearing. The other disc on the input side is supported on the input shaft by means of a spline coupling and a flange. A cam board which constitutes a pressure device is supported on the outer circumference of the input shaft through a ball spline. Disc springs are installed between one face of the cam board and a loading nut. In this way, the number of difficult processing steps and the degree of required precision can be reduced at the same time, hence making it possible to implement the reduction of the manufacturing costs.

    • An oil pump includes: a rotor 3 for actuating a pump action to suck oil in a suction passage 24 from a suction port 27 to supply oil to a delivery passage by way of a delivery port 19; and a flow control valve for returning an excessive oil from the delivery passage to the suction passage 24 as a returning flow of oil by way of a bypass passage 29 when a flow amount of oil is excessive in the delivery passage. A corrosion-proof member 9 having corrosion resistance is disposed at the position which faces to the returning flow of oil in the inner wall surface of at least one of the suction passage 24 and the bypass passage 29. The corrosion-proof member 9 has a discontinuous shape (for example a V-shape or a U-shape) in a circumferrencial direction of center line P1 in a cross section which intersects the center line P1 at right angles.
