    • A float switch comprises a hollow main member in which a bob and a switch are provided. The switch has a bar to control a circuit therein and is connected with a wire, and the bob is connected to the bar of the switch via a L-shaped activating plate whereby the switch is controlled by a movement of the bob. The main member has an apartment therein to receive the bob therein, and the activating plate being pivoted on the main member between the switch and the bob. The activating plate has a first end associated with the bar of the switch and a second end associated with the bob, wherein the second end is fixed to an end of a connecting device, and an opposite end of the connecting device is fixed to the bob.

    • A side-mounted float sensor has eight components: a reed switch, two leads, a molded connector, a sensor body, a sealing grommet, a float, and an activation magnet. The two leads are assembled to the molded connector and the reed switch is welded across the leads. The molded connector is inserted into the sensor body. The sensor body has an opening that receives a portion of the float. The float is keyed to the sensor body and a flange extends from the sensor body so that the float can only be installed on one side of the sensor body. The float rests on an upper portion of the sensor body and is completely contained behind a circular disk which terminates the sensor body and guides the sensor body during insertion through the sealing grommet.

    • An electrically actuated flow control device for use with an electrical household appliance includes a single body defining first and second flow passages. Inlet ends of the flow passages connect to pressurized sources of hot and cold water, and outlet ends of the flow passages connect to hoses for delivery of hot and cold water to the appliance. Hot and cold water actuators are each adapted to move between a first position resisting flow through the flow passages and a second position permitting flow through the flow passages. A sensor detects whether current is being drawn by the appliance, and a controller controls the positions of the actuators dependant upon whether current is being drawn. The inlet ends of the flow passage each include a connector arranged at a desired spacing from each other corresponding to the connector spacing in a mechanical flow control device.

    • An automatic sub-floor pumping system, having a controller box, sensor wires, suction hose and pump. Two or three sensor probes are used--the lowest, or ground, probe can be omitted, and the circuit referenced to earth or wiring ground. The pump evacuates water from beneath the basement floor through a hose inserted into a small hole drilled into the basement floor. The sensor probes can be simply wires with the last 1/8" to 1/2" bared, attached to the outside of the pump suction hose at two locations an inch or two apart. The hose, with wires attached, is inserted down the one-inch evacuation hole bored through the floor. The control uses a very low current on the wires, which are negative relative to ground so as to be cathodically protected from corrosion. An optional sensing circuit monitors lower probe wire voltage and warns of possible corrosion effects.

    • An apparatus has a liquid level sender providing a sender output signal which varies with a measure of a liquid and which varies with a slosh of the liquid. A main control circuit couples and decouples the sender output signal to a process circuit, the process circuit provides an output signal to a liquid level indicator. Two monitor circuits monitor the output of the process circuit and provide a control signal to the main control circuit if the sender output signal varies from the output of the process circuit by more than a predetermined amount. A switch within the main control circuit decouples the sender output signal from the process circuit in response to the control signal. Sample circuitry within the process circuit drives the output of the process circuit in accordance with a sampled signal when the sender out signal is decoupled from the process circuit.
