    • A positioning fixture includes a support base and two clamping assemblies. The support base includes a support surface defining a positioning hole and two sliding slots. The two clamping assemblies are mounted in the two sliding slots respectively, and partly protruding out from the support surface. Each of the clamping assemblies includes a pair of clamping blocks and a pair of elastic members. The pair of clamping blocks is slidably engaged in the corresponding sliding slot. The pair of elastic members is mounted in two ends of the corresponding sliding slot to resist one of the pair of the clamping blocks against the other one of the pair of the clamping blocks, respectively, such that the pair of the clamping blocks is capable of abutting and resisting each other.

    • A part fixturing system for securing a workpiece includes an expanding clamping device and a work holding device. The expanding clamping device includes a clamp base portion, first and second traversing wedge blocks, an actuation screw, and a clamp plate portion. The clamp base portion comprises a longitudinal recess, and the traversing wedge blocks are located inside the longitudinal recess, each block including an inclined contact surface and a threaded aperture. The actuation screw passes through the longitudinal recess of the clamp base portion and the threaded apertures of the traversing wedge blocks. The clamp plate portion comprises first and second declined contact surfaces. The work holding device comprises first and second support columns that define a longitudinal loading envelope. The expanding clamping device is positioned inside the longitudinal loading envelope of the work holding device and couples the workpiece to the first and second support columns.

    • A one-handed ratcheting C-clamp is provided. The C-clamp incorporates a spring loaded handle mechanically coupled to a ratcheting mechanism. The ratcheting mechanism has a plurality of gear teeth that engage the threads of a corresponding rod disposed through a hole formed in one section of the C-shaped C-clamp. The handle rotates the bidirectional ratchet such that the threaded rod is lowered or raised within the hole of the C-shaped C-clamp. A button located in the side of the handle may release the ratchet mechanism pawl to provide axial sliding engagement of the rod to a corresponding work piece. The handle and corresponding ratchet mechanism secure the rod against the work piece. Further tightening engagement of the work piece is accomplished via a lever located on a top portion of the rod.

    • A fixture includes an enlarged plate having slots in an upper surface, and support members are secured to the plate at the slots. The fixture is utilized to machine parts that are initially flame-cut from a large plate/sheet of hot-roll steel. A plurality of notches are flame-cut into the perimeter of the part. The support members engage the flame-cut slots to secure the part to the plate for machining a first side of the part. Precision notches are machined into the part, and precisely-shaped protrusions on the support members are closely received in the precision notches to precisely locate the part for further machining on a second side thereof.
