    • A clamping mechanism includes a mounting plate, a driving assembly, and a clamping assembly. The mounting plate defines four through grooves. The driving assembly includes a driver mounted on the mounting plate, and a connecting member connected to the driver. The clamping assembly includes a reversing member mounted on the mounting plate, four clamping members, four transferring members, and four elastic members. The clamping members are movably mounted in the through grooves. The transferring members are wound on the reversing member. An end of each transferring member is connected to the connecting member, an opposite end of each transferring member is connected to the corresponding clamping member. The elastic members are sleeved on the transferring members, and resisting against the clamping members. The clamping members move toward the reversing member driven by the driver, for clamping a workpiece.

    • The present invention is directed generally to tools that are high quality, strong, and lightweight. For example, various tools such as clamps may be made using parts containing a compound or alloy including magnesium. Magnesium may be for cast or extruded parts. In one embodiment, an “F” style clamp may be made with one or both of the two cooperating jaw members or sections being cast from a magnesium compound or alloy. In one variation, the “F” style clamp may include a shaft made from extruded magnesium. In another embodiment, a “C” style clamp may be made with the “C” shaped frame being cast from a magnesium compound or alloy. In a further embodiment, a bar clamp having trigger indexing may be made with one or both of two jaw members or sections being cast from a magnesium compound or alloy. In a variation, the bar may be an extruded magnesium.

    • A clamping device for adjoining board materials includes: a C-shaped base having a base section, a top arm and an upright arm; a first press rod and a second press rod vertically movably fitted through the top arm; two first fastener assemblies for fastening and locating the press rods; a horizontal holder mechanism fitted on the first press rod and vertically movable along the first press rod; and a second fastener assembly for adjustably fastening the holder mechanism to the first press rod at a height. The holder mechanism includes at least one horizontally movable guide pin and an abutment member disposed at a front end of the guide pin. In use, a horizontal board material and an upright board material are placed in the base and fixedly held with the first and second press rods respectively. The abutment member serves to abut against and hold the upright board material.
