    • A valve for atomizing fluid is specified, in particular an injection or metering valve for fuel injection or exhaust-gas systems of motor vehicles, which valve has a valve seat body (11) with a valve seat (14) which surrounds a valve opening (13), a perforated injection disc (17) which bears against the front side of the valve seat body (12) downstream of the valve opening (13) and has at least one spray hole (18) which is offset radially with respect to the valve opening (13), and an inflow cavity (19) which is present between the valve opening (13) and the at least one spray hole (18). For the inexpensive and reproducible production of a stable, corrosion-resistant perforated injection disc (18) with improved atomization of the ejected fluid, the inflow cavity (19) is formed by at least one depression (20) which is made in that disc face of the perforated injection disc (17) which faces the valve seat body (12), in such a way that part of the depression (20) protrudes into the valve opening (13) and the remaining part of the depression (20) is covered by the valve seat body (12). The at least one spray hole (18) is made in that part of the depression (20) which is covered by the valve seat body (12), close to the depression wall, which faces away from the valve opening (13), into the bottom (201) of the depression (20).

    • A fuel injector has an orifice plate including a plurality of spray-discharge orifices, which orifice plate is situated downstream from a valve seat member having a fixed valve seat. An inflow opening, which is provided directly upstream from the spray-discharge orifices as incident-flow cavity, is designed in such a way that an incident flow to the spray-discharge orifices takes place largely at a right angle to the longitudinal extension of the spray-discharge orifices. The spray-discharge orifices are placed and oriented in such a way that at least one fuel spray in the form of a hollow cone lamella or full cone lamella is able to be spray-discharged, in which a radially outer region is made up of larger droplets than a radially inner region of the spray.

    • A fuel injector, in particular for a high-pressure injector for direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, has compression of a fuel/air mixture with spark ignition. On the downstream end of the valve a valve seat element is provided, to which a perforated disk acting as a flow restrictor is connected downstream. A swirl element is situated upstream from the valve seat which imparts an atomization-promoting rotational motion to the fuel to be injected. In the valve seat element downstream from the valve seat, an elongated outlet orifice is provided which opens directly into an orifice in the perforated disk attached to the valve seat element. The width of the outlet orifice is greater than the width of the orifice in the perforated disk, at least at its narrowest location, so that it is possible to adjust the steady-state flow rate of the valve at the orifice.
