    • A thermal ink ribbon has a base sheet, a thermal recording layer arranged on one side of the base sheet, and a back layer arranged on an opposite side of the base sheet. The back layer according to the present invention comprises a polyurethane resin which is obtained by reacting a low molecular weight polymer having at least one active-hydrogen-containing group at one end of the molecule, a compound having at least one active-hydrogen group and at least one hydrophilic group except a hydroxide group, with a polyisocyanate. The back layer is excellent in the adhesiveness to a base sheet, the heat resistance relative to a thermal head and slipperiness to a thermal head; and the ink ribbon with such a back layer has no problems in printed characters and figures on printing, in the migration of impurities from the back layer into an ink layer, in smeariness of a thermal head and in its maintenance. Such a back layer is capable of being formed on a surface of a base sheet by only applying the coating, which comprises the above polyurethane resin, for forming a back layer; and drying the coated layer.

    • A rear-wheel suspension device on a tricycle vehicle having front and rear vehicle portions interconnected by a rolling joint having a sleeve bearing. To provide increased stability between a pair of rear wheels of the tricycle vehicle, a casing of the rolling joint is pivotably mounted on a frame of the front vehicle portion for pivotable movement. The rolling joint has a spindle connected in a fixed positional relationship relative to axles of the rear wheels. A shock absorber is interposed between the frame and the casing. To increase damping and vibration-isolating ability, the casing is pivotably connected to the frame by a link, and the shock absorber is oriented so as to be substantially perpendicular to a straight line passing through an axis of the rear-wheel axles when they are loaded and a pivot point at which the link is pivotably connected to the casing. The link and the shock absorber have respective longitudinal axes extending substantially parallel to each other, and an engine is oriented such that major vibrations thereof are produced in a direction substantially at a right angle to the aforesaid longitudinal axes.

    • A chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay method whereby a target substance such as a protein is assayed. This chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay method comprises: the step of capturing an immune complex containing an enzyme-labeled antibody, which is labeled with an enzyme acting a chemiluminescent substrate, and the target substance on a support having no solution layer; the step of overlaying a support membrane containing the chemiluminescent substrate on the immune complex having been captured above; and the step of measuring the luminescence dose caused by the reaction between the enzyme-labeled antibody and the chemiluminescent substrate to thereby quantify the target substance. Since a highly sensitive chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay is conducted by using a non-liquid phase type reaction system in the chemiluminescent enzyme immunoassay method as described above, multiple items can be assayed by using only a small amount of a specimen and, furthermore, the target substance can be assayed at a high sensitivity thereby without resorting to any troublesome procedures such as pipetting a reagent.
