The controls are generated either from near-random sequence of DNA, or from intergenic or intronic regions of a genome. Twenty-three specific control sequences are also disclosed. Also presented are methods of using these controls, including as negative controls, positive controls, and as calibrators of a gene expression analysis system.

摘要： A system and method for facilitating smart power meter monitoring are provided. The system for facilitating smart power meter monitoring includes a standards-based frame detector, a CDR, at least one 8b/10 encoder/decoder and data links to receive input signals and transmit output signals. The system provides for the conversion of incoming SerDes signals, like those that may be transmitted from an optical module, into UART signals that can be communicated to the smart power meter directly through a UART port of the meter. The method includes receiving SerDes signals from an optical module and converting the signals to UART signals. The UART signals are converted to comply with industry standard protocols for communication with the smart power meter. The UART signals are then transmitted to the smart power meter through the meter's UART port.

In the present invention, a fully transparent 1T1R storage unit is developed on a flexible substrate through a completely low-temperature process, including an oxide layer dielectric, a transparent electrode and a transparent substrate which are deposited together through a low-temperature process, thus realizing a fully transparent device capable of achieving the functions of nontransparent devices. The present invention can be applied to the manufacturing of flexible low-temperature storage units in the future, as well as changing the packaging and existing modes of devices, which will make foldable and bendable portable storage units possible.

摘要： This invention describes various processes for synthesis and resolution of racemic amino-substituted fused bicyclic ring systems. One process utilizes selective hydrogenation of an amino-substituted fused bicyclic aromatic ring system. An alternative process prepares the racemic amino-substituted fused bicyclic ring system via nitrosation. In addition, the present invention describes the enzymatic resolution of a racemic mixture to produce the (R)- and (S)-forms of amino-substituted fused bicyclic rings as well as a racemization process to recycle the unpreferred enantioner. Further provided by this invention is an asymmetric synthesis of the (R)- or (S)-enantiomer of primary amino-substituted fused bicyclic ring systems.

摘要： Several neurodegenerative diseases result from the aggregation of polyglutamine repeat proteins into insoluble neuronal intranuclear inclusions. The invention provides methods with which to study the processes of these diseases, including methods for solubilizing polypeptides containing a polyglutamine repeat sequence, for storing these polyglutamine polypeptides and inhibit their spontaneous aggregation, for making the aggregates of polyglutamine polypeptides, for assaying the extension of existing polyglutamine aggregates, for determining the ability of a chemical compound to inhibit aggregation, and for inhibiting aggregation of polyglutamine polypeptides. The invention further provides materials with which to study these diseases including a synthetic aggregate that have a capability to recruit additional monomeric polyglutamine polypeptides and chemical compounds that inhibit the formation and/or extension of polyglutamine aggregates.
