    • Wheel assembly identification indicating members and first communication devices are respectively mounted to wheel assemblies mounted to a vehicle body. The indicating members have characteristic appearances, which are different among the wheel assemblies and which make the respective wheel assemblies identifiable in external appearance. The first communication devices transmit by wireless transmission pieces of wheel assembly information on the respective wheel assemblies as well as pieces of identification information held by the respective first communication devices. A second communication device provide on the vehicle body side receives the pieces of wheel assembly information and the pieces of identification information and specifies the respective wheel assemblies from which the pieces of wheel assembly information are transmitted, by referring to a correlation between prestored piece of information on characteristic appearances of the indicating members and the pieces of identification information.

    • Numeric values “a” representing a respective order of transmission by a plurality of transmitting units, and a numeric value N representing the total number of transmitting units, are set for each of the transmitting units. At startup, a transmitting unit for which the value “a” representing the order of transmission of the unit has been set to 1 sets a trigger value to N and transmits information about the value “a” of the unit and detection information from a sensor, and, when the value N is detected from a received signal, transmits the value “a” of the unit and detection information. When a value of a−1 is detected from a received signal, the transmitting unit for which the value “a” representing the order of transmission of the unit has been set to other than 1 transmits the information of the value “a” of the unit and detection information.

    • A tire information transmitter measures ambient information in a tire cavity region including at least pressure to wirelessly transmit to outside the tire cavity region. The tire transmitter comprises: a sensor unit having a pressure sensor for measuring a pressure in the tire cavity region; a control unit for comparing a level of a pressure signal representing pressure measured by the sensor unit with a threshold value and for generating an operation signal indicating that the tire information transmitter is operating; and a transmitting unit for wirelessly transmitting the pressure signal or the operation signal. The control unit controls the transmitting of the transmitting unit and compares the level of the pressure signal with the threshold value continually after a supply of driving power is started, and has a comparing mode in which the transmitting unit transmits the operation signal at a first time interval, and a transmitting mode in which the transmitting unit transmits the pressure signal at a second time interval which is shorter than the first time interval. Further, the control unit irreversibly shifts from the comparing mode to the transmitting mode, once the level of the pressure signal exceeds the threshold value, as a result of the comparing.
