    • A container for collecting a liquid lubricant has a housing having one end formed with an inlet opening connectable to a source of the liquid lubricant and an opposite end formed with a vent hole, with a piston inside the housing subdividing the housing into a front lubricant compartment into which the inlet opening opens and a rear compartment into which the vent hole opens. The piston is shiftable between a front position close to the intake opening and a rear position close to the vent hole such that as the liquid lubricant fills the lubricant compartment the piston moves into the rear position. Formations on the piston and on the housing seal between the piston and the housing around the vent hole only when the piston is in the rear position.

    • A method for dispensing lubricants uses a lubricant dispenser that has a lubricant reservoir connected to a housing outlet in a housing, and a gas production region that borders on the lubricant reservoir and accommodates an electrolyte fluid. To start dispensing the lubricant, a galvanic gas production element is introduced into the electrolyte fluid, whereby the lubricant is pressed out of the lubricant reservoir, through the housing outlet, under the pressure of a gas that is produced via electrochemical decomposition of the gas production element. An additional component is introduced into the electrolyte fluid at the same time with the galvanic gas production element, which component is decomposed in the electrolyte fluid during a shorter period of time, with reference to the entire period of operation, with the production of gas, and thereby brings about an increase in the gas production rate, part of the time. A gas production element for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

    • An injection system for an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders is known which has a hydraulic pump with a delivery outlet to which a delivery line common to the cylinders is connected, and a plurality of injection units each of which is associated with a different cylinder and, in normal drive operation, can be controlled pulsewise by connection with the delivery line. There is also known an exhaust-brake system having a plurality of decompression valves each of which is associated with a different cylinder and, in brake operation, can be controlled pulsewise outside the exhaust stroke, in particular at the end of the compression stroke, by alternate pressure action on and pressure relief of the hydraulic actuating element. The purpose is to create a system with which, at little expense and at favorable cost, the "injection" and "exhaust-brake" functions can be satisfied. This is achieved by a plurality of valve arrangements, each of which is associated with a different cylinder and in normal drive operation connects the injection unit and the in brake operation the hydraulic actuating element on the corresponding cylinder, with proper timing, to the delivery line.
