    • The present document describes a rotating and reciprocating piston device comprising: chambers disposed about a chamber axis, the chambers having two ends and a port for passage of a fluid at each one of the ends of the chambers; pistons having two ends, each one of the pistons slidably positioned within a respective one of the chambers thereby determining a space at either end of each piston within its respective chamber; and a track forming a closed circuit through which the chamber axis passes, the track for determining a position of a piston within its respective chamber and hence the space on either side thereof.

    • A rotary internal combustion engine, includes a housing, a rotating plate assembly and a stationary plate assembly. The rotating plate assembly has a plurality of vanes disposed between an inflow passage and an outflow passage. The stationary plate assembly defines a piston chamber in which is disposed a reciprocating piston. Rotation of a crank shaft rotates the rotating plate assembly and rotation of the rotating plate assembly rotates the crank shaft. Valves are coupled to the crank shaft, such that rotation of the crank shaft opens and closes the valves during the combustion cycle. Each piston is coupled to the crank shaft such that rotation of the crank shaft results in reciprocal movement of the pistons in the piston chambers.

    • A Hybrid Piston/Rotary engine has a stationary elliptical housing with a circumscribed inner cam surface to provide thrust, and sides with bearing supports for rotation of a rotor, at least one cylinder, a shaft with apertures therein to provide rotary valves combined with intake and exhaust ports within the bearing supports. Each cylinder has two opposed pistons connecting cam followers pivoted to the rotor which reciprocate upon rotation. During the intake stroke, the pistons separate as an intake valve opens; and fuel mixture fills the cylinder and closes as pistons compress the mixture. The rotor ports become aligned with the spark plugs within the bearing supports, and ignited gasses force the pistons apart causing the cam followers to provide thrust to the rotor. The exhaust valve is opened as the pistons contract. Four strokes are completed each rotation. The valves can also be arranged to operate as a pump.

    • The present invention is directed to a rotary engine power transmission system for use in vehicular as well as other applications. The power system includes a rotary engine or pump, which may be pneumatic or hydraulic in configuration. The power system includes components whose purpose is to convert rotational force into pneumatic or hydraulic pressure where that same fluid pressure can be reconverted back into rotational force. This conversion can be from a source to a driven component, or from the driven component back to the same source for use, for example, in vehicular applications for use. One purpose in a vehicular specific application is to convert rotational source energy into rotational power at the vehicles wheels, for acceleration, and to reverse this process to recapture deceleration losses.

    • An internal combustion engine operates on a four-stroke cycle and includes a housing defining: one or more generally wedge-shaped combustion chambers, and an internal cavity in which a wheel is mounted for rotation on a crankshaft. Arranged inside each combustion chamber is a gate, with each gate having a corresponding gate control assembly including a control shaft. Each control shaft is supported by bearings that engage and ride in a generally elliptical cam-cutout defined in the surface of the wheel. Movement of the gate control assemblies within and with respect to the elliptical cam-cutout controls the movement and operation of the gates, such that, as the wheel rotates, a fuel/air mixture is drawn into a combustion chamber; compressed by the rotating movement of a gate; and ignited, imparting a force on the gate, with the gate then rotating to expel combustion gases through an exhaust port.

    • A novel combustion engine with turbine like properties is disclosed. The novel engine (10) comprises an air intake, a first compressor stage, coupled to the air intake, a second compressor stage, coupled to the first compressor stage, a transfer valve, placed between the compressor stages and an annular race. Within the annular race, toroidal piston travels and passes over the transfer valve. The valve, toroidal piston and race form a temporary combustion chamber that expands as the piston travels within the annular race. Compressed air and fuel are introduced into the temporary combustion chamber and ignited to release the chemical energy and force the turbine piston to travel faster within the annular race. The first compressor stage is rotatably coupled to a crank shaft, which drives the first compressor stage and connects to an armature, which also connects the turbine piston so that useful work can be extracted from the energy released from the combustion of the fuel-air mixture.
