    • A seal that can be used in groove surfaces, in permanent glasswork, or in casement windows and is comprised of a sealing profile 1 having a profile base 3 and an anchoring wedge 2. On the side of the profile base 3 that is opposite the anchoring wedge 2, a sealing pad 4 and a sealing lip 5 are formed, and a nose strip 6 is positioned on the end of the sealing pad 4. These parts of the sealing profile 1 are made of a thermoplastic rubber. They are to be joined to the semi-finished closure of the window shortly following extrusion by the manufacturer. The corresponding semi-finished product can then be cut to size and joined by the window builder with the sealing profiles 1 being bonded together at the same time so that the entire seal is guaranteed. This makes the window builder's step of "inserting the sealing profile" completely unnecessary.

    • In a reinforcing structure for reinforcing a vertical frame member made of aluminum material and constituting a sash frame by attaching thereto a reinforcing member made of steel, the reinforcing member is an elongated member composed of an indoor side piece, an outdoor side piece and a connection piece. The vertical frame member comprises an indoor side vertical plate member, an outdoor side vertical plate member and a connection plate member. The indoor side vertical plate member has an end portion which is bent to form an indoor side recessed portion continuously extending in the longitudinal direction thereof, and the outdoor side vertical plate member has an end portion which is bent to form an outdoor side recessed portion continuously extending in the longitudinal direction thereof. The reinforcing member is attached to the vertical frame member in the manner that the indoor side, outdoor side and connection pieces of the reinforcing member respectively face the indoor side vertical, outdoor side vertical and connection plate members of the vertical frame member, and that end portions of the indoor side and outdoor side pieces of the reinforcing member are respectively inserted in the indoor side and outdoor side recessed portions of the vertical frame member.

    • A boat windshield, and labor saving method of manufacturing the boat windshield, are provided. The conventional components of a generally polygonal configuration frame, a piece of boat windshield sheet material that is transparent, and a mechanism for connecting the frame to a boat so as to construct a boat windshield are utilized. However the flexible gasket material that is provided in an inwardly facing channel of the frame, instead of being a number of discrete pieces which are cut and fit together at the corners, comprises an integral single piece of flexible (preferably elastomeric) material having continuous and integral corners corresponding to and disposed within the channels of the frame, the corners between the frame sides. The integral gasket corners are preferably produced by transfer molding. Only a small amount of caulk is used at the frame corners.

    • A molding for mounting in a gap between an outer periphery and a window frame of an automobile is disclosed. The molding is formed of a length of material having first and second pillar sections extending into corner sections, the corner sections being interconnected via a roof section. A cross-section of the molding includes a leg portion and a head portion extending therefrom, the head portion having a parasol-shape and overhanging the leg portion. A glass lip projects from a first side of the leg portion, the molding being configured to receive an outer periphery of the front glass between the glass lip and a lower surface of the head portion. Additionally, a panel lip projects from a second side of the leg portion, the panel lip being adapted to elastically abut and engage the window frame of the automobile. Further, a groove lip extends over a length of each of the pillar portions, and projects from the upper surface of the head portion. The groove lip is formed of a material different from the other components of the molding, but is integrally extruded with the other components.
