    • A track system for a movable panel, such as a companionway door on a boat, allows adjustment after installation of the tracks for the panel, and allows the panel to be removed without removing the tracks. Typically a number of adjustable slide block assemblies are utilized each including a slide block of a low friction material (or a wheel on a shaft with a ball bearing mount) and a panel mounting element, the position of the slide block being adjustable with respect to the panel mounting element in a dimension non-aligned with the dimension of the elongation of the tracks. The slide block assembly typically includes an adjuster track including a nut-receiving channel, and removably connected to the slide block, an elongated substantially rectangular prism nut received in the nut-receiving channel; and a number of guide surfaces on the panel mounting element, and cooperating guide surfaces on the adjuster track so that the adjuster track is slidable with respect to the panel mounting element and nut to adjust the position of the panel mounting element with respect to the slide block; and a screw engaging the nut and movable from a tightened position in which the adjuster track is prevented from moving with respect to the panel mounting element, to an adjusting position in which the adjuster track can be moved with respect to the panel mounting element.

    • A pinless hinge is provided for pivotally connecting panel assemblies (such as boat windshield components), comprising first and second elongated cooperating aluminum extrusion components. The first component has a first flange with a hooked termination of a first distal end, and including an interior arcuate surface having a radius of about 180.degree., and an exterior projecting surface opposite the interior arcuate surface. A second component includes a second body having a second flange extending outwardly and terminating in a second distal end, including a second arcuate surface having a second radius equal to or slightly less than the first radius and an interior opening of approximately the same size and shape as the hooked termination of the first distal end. A third flange extends outwardly from the second body and has a side wall spaced from the second flange throughout the majority of its length a distance approximately equal to the maximum dimension of the first flange exterior projecting surface from the first flange interior arcuate surface. A third flange side wall has an arcuate portion with a radius and the exterior projecting surface of the first flange includes at least a portion thereof having a radius approximately equal to the radius of the third flange arcuate portion. The two component hinge allows relative rotation of more than 140.degree. between its components without detachment by providing multiple axes of rotation along an arcuate path.

    • A three-piece hinge supports a two-panel window assembly in a frame. The hinge includes a base member securable to the frame, a first pivot member pivotably coupled with the base member at a first pivot joint, and a second pivot member pivotably coupled with the base member at a second pivot joint spaced from the first pivot joint. The first and second pivot members each have a glass channel for supporting a panel of the two-panel window assembly. In one arrangement, an insert is secured in a pivoting path of the second pivot member to thereby limit a pivot range of the second pivot member. The hinge eliminates the significant machining time required for prior hinge designs, thereby resulting in a simpler less expensive hinge.
