    • Process for the manufacture of an article comprising a rigid support element of which a nullshownull face is partially covered by a supple covering. The covering is connected to a relatively rigid holding element having its own shape and a strength such that it is not substantially deformed under predetermined foaming conditions, in order substantially to maintain the covering in a predetermined shape. Then, the covering and the support element are placed in a foaming mould, and, since the support element has a hollow region delimited by a peripheral rim, a docking surface of the covering is disposed opposite the peripheral rim. Foam is thus introduced into the mould, between the support element and the covering, under the predetermined conditions, in order to connect the covering and the support element.

    • In a process for producing a polyurethane-foam product molded integrally with an insert, wherein a molded body, including a substrate and a polyurethane-foam molded body being molded integrally with the substrate, is produced, the substrate being disposed in an expansion-molding mold as the insert, a fine groove-shaped polyurethane-foam relief groove and a polyurethane-foam adjuster are formed in an end of the substrate and/or a mold surface of the expansion-molding mold which contacts with the substrate. The relief groove communicates with a cavity of the mold. The adjuster communicates with the relief groove, and has a volume larger than that of the relief groove. The relief groove and the adjuster can control the pressure exerted within the cavity. Polyurethane foam, which is formed by the relief groove and the adjuster, adheres to molded product. Therefore, it is possible to obviate the deflashing operation. An expansion-molding mold therefor is also disclosed.

    • This disclosure covers methods of use and manufacture, and apparatuses for dispensing, and compositions of durable, water-dispersible or water-soluble polymer foams. Durable water-dispersible foam is soluble in aqueous solutions after curing, does not collapse into a film when dry after curing, and does not require hot extrusion in order to form foam. Durable water-dispersible foams may contain additives and fillers. Durable water-dispersible foams may be applied directly to objects before, during, and/or after curing. For example, durable water-dispersible foams may be sprayed directly onto plants, fruits, vegetables, and other water-resistant objects in order to provide temporary insulation, or for protection during shipping and handling. When the durable water-dispersible foam is no longer needed, it is simply rinsed away with water. Durable water-dispersible foam may also be used as a seed-sowing medium, fire fighting foam, erosion control, modeling material, mold-making material, molded material, and as a frost-protection barrier for plants.

    • A method for forming a headliner assembly includes forming a main body blank having a periphery in a shape corresponding to a desired shape of the headliner assembly, the mold has a correspondingly shaped surface with a recess including an intermediate wall portion. The method includes introducing foam into the recess to simultaneously form at least one foam beam enclosing a selected component area, and join the at least one beam to the main body. The intermediate wall can be an accessory, and the beam may be formed to surround the component area. Additional foam application may be included to acoustically control the headliner's response to buzz, squeaks and rattles.
