摘要： A foaming die device for forming a headrest is provided, which comprises a lower die having a first protrusion and an upper die having a second protrusion. The lower and upper dies are used for accommodating a trim cover assembly with a headrest stay portion extending outwardly through a stay passage hole formed in the trim cover assembly. The first and second protrusions are adapted to press and turn over a projected area created about the stay passage hole into the inside of that trim cover assembly. Also, a foaming process for forming the headrest, using this foaming die device, is provided, in which the projected area is turned over by the first and second protrusions into the trim cover assembly when placing the trim cover assembly in the dies. Hence, conventional preliminary steps using cylindrical stick to turn over the projected area into the trim cover assembly are eliminated.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for producing interior lining parts in a foaming tool, to an interior lining part produced accordingly, and to a foaming tool which can be used for production. The interior lining part has at least one molded skin, at least one foam layer and at least one carrier, the foam layer being located between the molded skin and the carrier. In order to produce an interior lining part according to the invention, the molded skin is introduced into a mold of a foaming tool. The foaming tool contains at least one separating edge. During back-foaming, the carrier is pressed against the molded skin at the position of the separating edge and connected to said molded skin such that a molded skin end can be severed manually, that is without the aid of tools, from the molded skin or is severed by the pressing step.

摘要： Interior panels having integrated airbag doors for motor vehicles and methods for making such interior panels are provided herein. In one example, an interior panel comprises a substrate having outer and inner surfaces and an opening extending therethrough. A multi-shot injection molded airbag chute-door assembly is mounted to the substrate and comprises a chute wall that at least partially surrounds an interior space. A door flap portion is pivotally connected to the chute wall and at least partially covers the opening. A perimeter flange extends from the chute wall and has a flange section that overlies the outer surface of the substrate. A molded-in lip feature extends from the flange section and contacts the outer surface to form a seal between the flange section and the substrate. A skin covering extends over the substrate and a foam is disposed between the skin covering and the substrate.

摘要： The invention relates to a piece of trim comprising a visible skin (16), in which an edge part of the visible surface is positioned adjacent to a concealed surface part of a rigid support (10) and held in place by a plastic foam (20) that is disposed between the skin (16) and the support (10). The inventive piece of trim comprises a strip (22) of open-porosity material, which is placed essentially along the entire length of the edge (18) of the skin in contact at least partially with the edge part of the visible surface of the skin and with the concealed surface part of the support. The open-porosity material has a sufficient heat resistance such that, inside the finished piece, part of the material retains open porosity. The invention is suitable for pieces of trim for motor vehicles.
