    • A saw blade clamping mechanism includes a holder connectable to a reciprocating shaft of a power sawing tool. The holder has a sliding way, a receiving slot for insertion of a saw blade, and a through hole in communication between the sliding way and the receiving slot. A steel ball is movably installed in the through hole. A sliding block is mounted in the sliding way and moveable between a first position for receiving the steel ball for removal of the saw blade out of the receiving slot and a second position to force the steel ball into the receiving slot to lock the saw blade. A spring member supports the sliding block in the second position. A control knob is connected to the sliding block for operation by the user to move the sliding block from the second position to the first position.

    • A miter guide for guiding a work piece along the cutting path of a saw blade or another working tool. The miter guide includes a guide bar which fits in a slot in the surface of a table, a fence for supporting the work piece, and a telescoping extension arm connected between the fence and the guide bar for fixing the position of the fence at a predetermined angle with respect to the plane of the saw blade. The fence is pivotally connected to the guide bar, and the telescoping extension arm is also pivotally connected to the guide bar, as well as being pivotally connected to the fence at an end of the fence remote from the guide bar. A broad based triangle is formed by the guide bar, the fence and the extension arm. The extension arm includes a rod that is slidably received in a tube, and a knob that is turned to push a deformable portion of the tube against the rod to fix a length of the extension arm, thereby setting the angle of the fence.

    • A miter attachment capable of use on radial saws, table saws, drill presses, router tables, and the like, comprises three legs of a triangle. The longest leg constitutes an elongated base member. This base member is pivotally attached at one end to a fence member. The base member has a track in it for engagement by a slider, which is capable of movement along at least a portion of the length of the base member. The slider is pivotally attached to one end of a coupler arm, the other end of which is pivotally attached to the fence member at a point spaced from the end pivotally attached to the base member. As the slider is moved to different relative positions along the length of the base member, the coupler arm causes the angle between the fence and the base member to change.

    • A new and improved miter apparatus includes a base plate assembly which includes a front end, two sides, and a rear end. The base plate assembly includes a slot at the front end midway between the two side members for receiving a saw blade. A track assembly is located between the rear end and the slot on the base plate assembly. A carriage assembly is supported by the track assembly. The carriage assembly is capable of being moved back and forth along the track assembly. The carriage assembly includes a first pivot assembly and a second pivot assembly supported by the base plate assembly at a position between the track assembly and the slot on the base plate assembly. A pair of miter arms are pivotally connected to the second pivot assembly. The miter arms include respective third pivot assemblies supported by the miter arms. A pair of control arms are connected between the first pivot assembly and the respective third pivot assemblies, such that when the carriage assembly is moved along the track assembly toward the slot, the miter arms move such that respective miter angles between the slot and the respective miter arms decrease. Conversely, when the carriage assembly is moved along the track assembly away from the slot, the respective miter angles between the slot and the respective miter arms increase. A tongue assembly is attached to a bottom side of the base plate assembly and rides in a complementary slot in a table.

    • Clamp mechanism for use in maintaining a workpiece in desired position against a stationary backstop including a clamping member mounted for free linear movement for being positioned in engagement with the workpiece regardless of the dimensions thereof and a camming and locking device for selectively engaging and camming the clamping member to apply a desired clamping force to the workpiece and for locking the clamping member against the free linear movement thereof in the cammed position. The backstop and clamp mechanism are mounted on the table top with the backstop disposed at a predetermined desired angle to the saw for clamping the workpiece on the table top for movement toward the saw for the cutting of the end thereof.
