摘要： The present invention relates to an optical flow cell (1) for a measuring device, having an input light guide with a light exit surface, an output light guide with a light entrance surface, said input light guide and output light guide being integrated with a holder (30) to form optical flow cell (1), and wherein the holder (30) extends along a first axis (A) and has a through hole (31) for receiving a flow of a sample fluid, said through hole (31) being transversal to said first axis (A), and the input light guide and output light guide further are arranged in said holder (30) so that the light exit surface and the light entrance surface extend into said through hole (31) and are arranged to be in optical alignment with each other and at a first distance from each other. The invention also relates to a measuring device having at least one optical flow cell (1).

摘要： A unit for measurement of absorbance using a microchip has a microchip with a continuous cavity, a sample chamber, a reagent chamber, a reagent mixing chamber and a chamber for measuring absorbance, which is arranged in a straight line in the area of the continuous cavity. The microchip is located in a chip holder which has a capillary part which is arranged such that the light used to measure absorbance is delivered through the capillary part to the chamber for measuring absorbance, the capillary part having a smaller opening diameter than the diameter of the cross section which is perpendicular to the optical axis of the chamber for measuring absorbance.

摘要： A portable hand held instrument is capable of making accurate colorimetric measurements in the field. The instrument has a body which houses the electronic circuitry and a door which allows a vial having a solution to be measured to be placed therein. The vial is illuminated lengthwise by a light beam of two wavelengths, one of which serves as a reference. The light emerging from the top of the vial is spatially integrated and directed to a detector. The detector measures the intensity of the transmitted light, and the electronic circuit determines the difference between the logarithms of the detected signals. This difference is multiplied by a constant to produce a signal representative of the concentration and is displayed. The resolution of the measurement is automatically increased when the processor senses that the signals are too small.

摘要： A method and portable apparatus for measuring particulate concentration in the atmosphere utilizing uniform laser pulses to traverse the atmosphere to be measured and a photo-electronic receiver which discriminates against stray light and detects the attenuation of the laser pulses. This attenuation is caused by particulates in the atmosphere which tend to scatter or absorb light. By using monochromatic laser pulses having wavelengths lying in transparent atmospheric windows, error is not introduced by the attenuation of the beam due to gases occurring naturally in the atmosphere including water vapor. Thus concentration of particulates such as smoke, fog, smog, dust and the like are measurable.
