摘要： A method for forming a porous PTFE layer includes steps of: combining one or at least two unburned porous PTFE films and a support body that can withstand a heating condition in the following process (a rod or plate shaped support body made of mesh or the like is preferable) by using a predetermined means in such a manner that a slip can be prevented in a heating treatment in the following process; and heating the matter resulted from the above process at a temperature of at least 150° C. and less than the melting point of the PTFE film for the range of 5-120 minutes (preferably at a temperature in the range of the melting point of a thermoplastic resin fiber to 320° C. for the range of 10-60 minutes in the case in which the thermoplastic resin fiber or the like is used in the process).

摘要： Components may be interconnected using liquid materials such as liquid adhesive and solder. To prevent undesired movement between the components during the assembly process and to prevent the liquid material from flowing into undesired areas, an attachment and dam structure may be provided. The structure may be formed from a substrate such as a flexible polymer film coated with adhesive. When interposed between first and second components, the structure attaches the first and second components and prevents movement between the first and second components. The structure may have one or more edges adjacent to the liquid material to block the liquid material from flowing while the liquid material is in its liquid state. Once the components have been connected, the liquid material can be solidified.

The apparatus has supporting members which support respective resin components in an axial direction with the joint faces movable to each other along the axial direction; a hot air die having nozzle faces and moveable from an inserting position to a retracting position between both resin components; first driving means for moving said supporting members to a heating position wherein joint faces of respective resin components come close to the nozzle faces of said hot air die located at an inserting position, or to a welding position wherein joint faces of respective resin components are pressure-contacted to each other under the condition of said hot air die located at the retracting position; and second driving means for moving said hot air die between inserting and retracting positions, wherein said hot air die provides a hot air circuit that has a hot air generating structure.

A case has a resin first case part transmissive to laser light and including a peripheral portion. A resin second case part absorbs laser light joined with the first case part. A light reflector reflective to laser light is formed in the peripheral portion of the first case part. A laser welding portion is formed inward from the light reflector between the first case part and the second case part and located at a region reachable by laser light transmitted through the first case part without being reflected by the light reflector. The laser welding portion is for welding the second case part to the first case part with laser light.

摘要： A method and apparatus for welding two separate ends of an extrusion or two separate extrusion ends to form a flashless extrudate or gasket by having a first and a second mold for supporting and clamping the extrusion ends, and a spacer bar for positioning the extrusion ends to a location within the mold. A heating element elevates the temperature of the extrusion ends to a welding condition, and a clamping device is used for securing the extrusion ends. A flashless welding operation results by inserting and clamping at least one heated extrusion end into a welding mold until an acceptable contact pressure is obtained against the opposing heated extrusion end.

摘要： A plurality of sets of clampable jaws are positioned on cooperating pairs of sub-towers, one of each pair moves along the x-axis and one along the y-axis. In using the apparatus, fenestration product frame members which have been precisely cut to a desired cut length are placed in the clampable jaws. The frame members are positioned so that their ends are in non-touching proximity to radiant heater and a limited length of the ends of the frame members melted and then quickly brought into contact to effect welding of the joints. The precision placement of the precisely cut frame members results in a low-flash window frame.

摘要： A method and apparatus for laser welding two members made of thermoplastic resin material whereby high welding strength can be achieved and strength variations can be reduced. A first member 2 comprised of a transmissive thermoplastic resin that transmits a laser beam is brought into contact with a second member 3 comprised of an absorptive thermoplastic resin that absorbs a laser beam. Contact surfaces 4 are melted with a laser beam so as to join the two members. At least the contact surfaces 4 of the two members are pre-heated by a pre-heating means 20 at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of the contact surfaces. The contact surfaces 4 are then irradiated with a laser beam R generated by a laser beam generator 10 that is shone from the side of the first member so as to melt at least one of the contact surfaces of the two members. The melted portion is then post-heated by a post-heating means 20A at a temperature lower than the melting temperature of the melted portion, thereby allowing the melted portion to slowly cool down. The pre-heating and the post-heating are preferably conducted at temperatures above the glass transition temperature of the two members.
