    • The headlight apparatus has at least one headlight unit which includes several headlight subunits (20;40;60; 61;70;90). A base low beam which illuminates a base region in front of the vehicle is produced by at least one of the headlight subunits (20;40) in such a way as to fulfill the basic minimum requirements for a low beam. Additional headlight subunits (60;61;70;90) are connectable to the headlight subunit (20;40) producing the base low beam. At least one of the headlight subunits (20;70) is constructed according to the projection principle and has a reflector, a light source and, following the reflector, a lens and a diaphragm. At least one of the headlight subunits (40;60;61) is constructed according to a reflection principle and has a reflector, a light source and, if necessary, a light permeable disk with optical elements in it. A concentrated or focused light beam is produced by the headlight unit or units (20;70) constructed according to the projection principle while a horizontally scattered light beam is provided by the headlight subunit or subunits constructed according to the reflection principle.

    • The headlight has a reflector (10) and a light source (12) which is arranged in a lamp carrier (22), which can be pivoted in relation to the reflector (10) about a horizontal axis (30) between a position for low beam and a position for high beam by means of an actuator (42).     • The invention relates to a tool for closing pipe couplings between metal pipes (4, 5), the end of one pipe (4) being closingly engageable in a widened terminal part (6) of the other pipe (5), a sleeve ring (7) being pressed axially on to the widened part over the end face thereof. According to the invention, two pressing jaws (1, 2) movable towards and away from one another parallel to the pipe axes are provided and are forked in the pipe engaging zone, the sleeve ring (7) being retained in one pressing jaw (1) while the other pressing jaw (2) engages by means of tongs-action clamping jaws (10) with the funnel-shaped constriction between the widened part of the pipe and the unwidened part thereof. The outer ends of the clamping jaws (10) take the form of half-shells (12) which are in laterally inverted relationship to one another and whose inner shell surfaces are adapted to the pipe periphery. Preferably, a pressure-medium-operated actuating element (34, 35) is provided for operative actuation of the pressing jaws (1, 2).
