    • A patient is examined by magnetic resonance imaging in different positions relative to gravity by moving the patient relative to the magnet, and the acquired data is compared to show differences in anatomy due to differences in patient position. Individual data elements or groups of plural data elements representing particular locations in one set of image data can be compared with data elements associated with the same locations in another set of image data, to yield a set of comparison image data elements. The comparison data set can be used to detect difference caused by differences in position of the patient.

    • An MRI pulse sequence control system includes a pulse sequence controller, a controller, and a performance monitor module. The pulse sequence controller generates pulse sequence control data. The controller controls scanner devices according to the control data. The performance monitor module monitors performance of the controller during an MRI scanning procedure and provides controller performance information to the pulse sequence controller. The pulse sequence controller modifies the control data in response to the controller performance information. The controller responds to the control data during the MRI scanning procedure. A process for detecting errors in an MRI scan process includes monitoring performance of the controller during the MRI scanning procedure. Controller performance information is provided to the scanning pulse sequence controller. Control data generated by the scanning pulse sequence controller is modified in response to the controller performance information. The controller responds to the control data during the MRI scanning procedure.

    • A ledge for resiliently supporting a paper making machine wire has a head ledge which extends across the direction of travel of the wire and over which the wire can slide. The head ledge is rigidly connected to a movable support ledge which also extends across the direction of travel of the wire and is guided on a stationary support structure. Between the movable support ledge and the stationary structure there is a resilient push device which can displace the movable support ledge together with the head ledge between a position of rest away from the wire and an operating position in which the head ledge is pressed with a predetermined force against the wire. The stationary structure has several guide arms distributed over the length of the support ledge which are the exclusive means for guiding the movable support ledge. Several guide arms arranged in pairs are provided which grip around the support ledge, in the manner of a clamp.
