摘要： Liquid and solid compositions are provided for souring and imparting softness to freshly laundered textile materials. When in the form of a stable homogeneous liquid, the composition may contain (a) a quaternized fatty amide, an aqueous emulsion of partially oxidized polyethylene or a fatty amphoteric compound as the softening agent, (b) hydrofluorosilicic acid, ammonium silicofluoride, zinc silicofluoride, ammonium acid fluoride, potassium acid fluoride, or orthophosphoric acid as the souring agent, and (c) water. When in the form of a stable dry solid, the composition may contain (a) a quaternized fatty amide or fatty amphoteric compound as the softening agent, and (b) ammonium silicofluoride, potassium silicofluoride, sodium silicofluoride, zinc silicofluoride, ammonium acid fluoride, sodium acid fluoride or potassium acid fluoride. A method of preparing the liquid composition is provided which insures that it remains stable and homogeneous while awaiting use. Stable homogeneous aqueous stock solutions are also prepared from the liquid or solid compositions of the invention.

Good flame-retardant protection is obtained with a dry add-on of approximately 13 to 15 percent, and the fabric retains a good hand.

摘要： Excellent liquid laundry-detergent compositions are obtained by combining (1) alkanolamine, (2) nonionic surfactant, (3) sodium carboxymethylcellulose, (4) fabric brightener(s), (5) solvent, and (6) water. The preferred compositions of the invention also usually contain optional ingredients, such as dyes and perfumes. The alkanolamines promote the action of the nonionic surfactants. Moreover, it is desirable to use some triethanolamine for its stabilizing effect. The mixture of alkanolamine and nonionic surfactants is compatible with sodium carboxymethylcellulose, an excellent agent for avoiding redeposition of soil. The compositions according to the invention have good detergent activity when used at temperatures such as 49 to 60 degrees Centigrade. They afford a liquid laundry detergent which is at least as active, pound for pound, as powder laundry detergents now in common use.

摘要： Textile materials are treated with an alkaline aqueous medium having a pH value of 7.5-11 and containing 0.25-4% by weight of a dissolved water soluble hydrophilic soil release polymer having carboxylic acid groups and 0.05-1% by weight of a dispersed hydrophobic soil repellent fluorochemical. The soil release polymer and the soil repellent fluorochemical are deposited on the surfaces of the textile fibers and the resulting textile material is dried to impart the desired nondurable soil release and soil repellency properties. The aqueous medium also may contain polyvinylpyrrolidone to further improve the finish. In a preferred variant, the textile material is first contacted with an alkaline aqueous solution of the soil release polymer, and thereafter with an alkaline aqueous medium containing the dispersed soil repellent fluorochemical to reduce the tendency of the deposited soil release polymer to cover the deposited soil repellent fluorochemical molecules. A method of laundering soiled textile material is also provided wherein the washed and rinsed textile material is treated in accordance with the aforementioned method to impart nondurable soil release and soil repellency properties. The treated textile material is provided as a novel product.
