    • A cell culture controlling device is able to precisely control a cell culture's temperature and physical position. It contains a thermoelectric unit, a heat transfer medium, a controller, a pitch actuation unit, a medium temperature sensor, an ambient temperature sensor, a position sensor, a user interface, a powder supply and an alarm. The cell culture controlling device is able to maintain a cell culture temperature within a range from −10° C. to 70° C. with an increment of 1° C. and maintain the physical position of a cell culture container within a range from 0° to 45° with an increment of 1°. In this device, the thermoelectric unit is a Peltier solid state cooler, which allows an easy and accurate temperature control.

    • A method for treating a vegetable product in the form of crushed material includes the steps of (i) storing the crushed material in a first vat to let it ferment and form a cap of solid parts floating on a liquid mass therein; (ii) connecting a second vat to the first one to gather in it the gaseous products generated due to fermentation; (iii) isolating the two vats; (iv) reducing the gaseous pressure in the first vat; (v) connecting the second vat to the first at a point beneath the cap so that, due to the differential pressure between the two vats, spontaneous racking of gaseous products in the liquid mass occurs, in such a manner that rising they get into contact with the cap.

    • A bioreactor outlet air conditioning system (10) has a bioreactor vessel (100) and a heat exchanger. The heat exchanger has a fluid flow path (196) from a headspace (108) in the vessel for venting air from the vessel, and a temperature control element (300) in thermal contact with the fluid flow path (196). The fluid flow path (196) may be defined by a disposable portion of the bioreactor vessel (100). A method of controlling evaporation within a bioreactor vessel (100), dependent on the required evaporation rate, adjusts the temperature of the temperature control element (300) to control the rate of evaporation of the liquid media (106) from the vessel (100), and may include monitoring fluids in the fluid flow path (196) to detect at least water content of the fluids exiting the vessel to adjust the temperature and control the rate of evaporation dependent on the detected water content levels.
