    • A logic circuit generates in succession the stitch-control data for the successive stitches of a selected stitch pattern. The logic circuit does not store simultaneously all the stitch-control data for all the stitches of all the selectable stitch patterns, in the way done by conventional addressable random-access stitch-pattern memories. Instead, the logic circuit assumes successive states, in response to successive machine-synchronized pulses. In each state it generates, in the sense of bringing into existence for the first time, stitch-control data for the next stitch to be produced, this stitch-control data being derived from data related to a preceding stitch, e.g., the stitch-control data for the preceding stitch. The number of logic elements needed is low compared to that needed for a random-access stitch-pattern memory of the type storing all the stitch-control data for all the stitches of all the selectable patterns.

    • A credit card printing machine has a carriage with a platen movable over a printing bed on which a credit card and a copy sheet or pad of copy sheets, are placed. A printing plate associated with the credit organization which issued the respective credit card, is detachably attached to a seat plate, and can be exchanged so that the used printing plate and credit card are always associated with the same credit organization. The printing plate prints information regarding the name and code number of the store or dealer making the credit sale in the respective credit organization. This information, together with customer information from the credit card, are both imprinted on the used copy sheet. The attachment of the printing plate is effected by pins and a clamping spring so that no tool is required for exchanging printing plates to conform to the credit organization of a respective used credit card. Other printing plates, associated with other credit organizations, are stored in a compartment of the housing of the printing machine.

    • The disclosure relates to a data indicating device for printing machines wherein a plurality of rotatable type wheels adjacently aligned, and respectively inscribed with printing numerals on the peripheries thereof are each furnished with a gear at one side thereof, and the same number of rack bars are arranged each to engage the gear of the type wheel, and manual operating end portions of the rack bars project out of the machine housing in spaced relation. To these operating portions are connected flexible data indicating bands bearing on one face thereof numerals corresponding to the printing numerals on the peripheries of the type wheels, and these bands are guided on a concave curved inner surface to windows formed in the machine housing, thereby to indicate at the windows the selected printing numerals corresponding to those on the type wheels which are rotated by manipulation of the operating and portions of the rack bars.

    • This invention is concerned with a speed control for an electric motor which has been devised after noticing that the motor current increases or decreases approximately in proportion to the size of the load thereon and which control consists of a series circuit composed of an alternating current supply source, a motor and a symmetrical semiconductor switching element presenting low impedance by means of a trigger pulse, a phase adjusting circuit providing a trigger pulse on this circuit, and an ignition circuit, and a primary winding of a feedback transformer connected in series between said current supply source and the motor, and a secondary winding connected between said phase adjusting circuit and the supply source, taking polarity into consideration, thus the motor current flowing through said switching element is impressed to said primary winding, and this current is transformed as voltage to this secondary winding, and a polarity of this transformed voltage is fed back as a voltage of a reversed polarity to the polarity of the voltage to be supplied to the phase adjusting circuit from the current supply source to sensitively respond to the fluctuation of the load so that the ignition phase of said switching element is controlled automatically.
