摘要： A sewing system serves for sewing seams which the multi-dimensionally in space. A needle-bar upper part of a sewing head is mounted so as to be pivotable in a driven manner about a needle-bar longitudinal axis. A gripper lower part is mounted so as to be pivotable in a driven manner, and in a manner synchronous with the needle-bar upper part, about the needle-bar longitudinal axis, in the sewing-head lower part. Motor components for driving the movement of a needle bar, for pivoting the needle-bar upper part, for driving a gripper in a manner synchronous with the needle bar and for pivoting the gripper lower part are disposed outside the needle-bar upper part and outside the gripper lower part. Parts to be sewn that are topographically non-uniform are also rendered accessible.

摘要： An improved quilting machine, with a housing made by a C-shaped frame that has upper and lower arms, wherein the needle structure at the front end of the upper arm have conventional design (as used in commercial sewing machines) and the bobbin is placed to an elevated height by providing an upwardly extended end portion of the lower arm, wherein an offset shaft transmission means is be provided in the upwardly extended portion that acts as a power transmission towards the bobbin driving axle from the lower driving axle extending in the lower arm, wherein the upper and lower driving axles comprise of hollow drive shafts connected via flexible coupling means to half-shafts mounted on plates that are integral parts of the C-frame by dual ball bearing mounts. By such a simple design the reciprocating mass of the needle structure and the mass of the torque transmission means are reduced, conventional needle moving structures can be used and owing to the lighter load, the dimensions of the drive train can be less massive and heavy.

The mechanism further supports a revolving spool of a second thread and arranged to insert the second thread through a loop formed by the sewing thread at the remote side of the layer of fibrous fabric.

The hook assembly is driven by a drive shaft, and is moveable from a first, operating position, to a second, loading position. A bobbin loader is mounted adjacent to the hook assembly in the second position. The bobbin loader includes a suction tube that removes any remaining bobbin core. The bobbin loader then loads a replacement bobbin from the bobbin loading assembly into the bobbin receiver, prior to the hook assembly being returned to the operating position. Additionally, in order to sew through thick material, the needle is carried by a needle carriage which moves in time with the material being sewn to maintain the needle generally vertical throughout the time it is in the material being sewn.
