摘要： An aircraft system comprising a deflector assembly including, a base having mounting apertures; an inner ring concentrically positioned within an outer ring, the inner ring and the outer ring have an annulus defined therebetween via a base plate, a plurality of rods attached within the annulus and culminating at an apex creating a conical profile; and a forward-mounted cone-shaped deflecting member. The base plate comprises a through hole allowing airflow through the deflector assembly to supply an airplane engine. The aircraft safety device system further comprises at least one locking latch for removably securing the deflector assembly to a housing of the airplane engine. The aircraft safety device is mountable inside a lip of the housing of the airplane engine. Further, the aircraft safety device provides protection for airplane engines from air born animate and inanimate objects.

摘要： A guide vane device for a turbine has an inner platform with a through hole forming a fluid channel for a cooling fluid, wherein the inner platform extends in a circumferential direction around a shaft of the turbine. The guide vane device further includes a hollow aerofoil with a cooling opening for exchanging the cooling fluid passing the through hole into or from the hollow aerofoil, wherein the hollow aerofoil is fixed to a first surface of the inner platform, and a rail with a recess with a cooling fluid passage forming a passage for the cooling fluid to the through hole, wherein the rail is fixed to a second surface of the inner platform and the rail extends along the second surface in the circumferential direction around the shaft. The cooling fluid passage has in the circumferential direction at least the dimension of the through hole.

The second semiconductor region may include an optical waveguide configured to transmit light inputted by a light input component. The optical waveguide may be defined by a first trench disposed on a first side of the waveguide, and a second trench disposed on a second side of the waveguide opposite the first side. A width of each trench may vary along a length of the apparatus to control optical power density of the light transmitted along the optical waveguide. 摘要： A broadband receiving apparatus includes an antenna to receive a radio signal having a plurality of modulation frequencies. An amplifier drives a laser source from the broadband radio signal to produce an optical signal having a plurality of spectral components. A diffraction grating transforms the optical signal into its spectral components. An array of photo-detectors converts the spectral components into electronic signals corresponding to the plurality of modulation frequencies. A transmitting apparatus includes an array of coherent laser emitters driven by electronic signals corresponding to a plurality of modulation frequencies to produce optical signals corresponding to a plurality of spectral components. A diffraction grating inverse transforms the spectral components into a composite optical signal. A photo-detector converts the composite optical signal into a composite electronic signal including the plurality of modulation frequencies. An amplifier amplifies the composite electronic signal for transmission as a broadband radio signal.

摘要： A method of butt welding a first and second tubular to join them together, the tubulars being suitable for use in an underwater environment and normally being made from carbon steel and having a corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) provided on an internal face thereof, the method comprising: depositing from an external side of the first and second tubulars, a weld-filler material onto a butt joint between the first and second tubulars. Preferably the weld filler on the external side is a carbon steel weld filler and for the internal side is a CRA weld filler. In this manner sufficiently strong circumferential welds may be provided especially for CRA clad tubulars. A method of deploying the tubulars underwater and an apparatus comprising tubulars welded together is also disclosed.
