摘要： A folding modular structure is described. The structure typically includes a top panel, which is ultimately the roof deck. Two side panels, a front and a rear panel are connected to the top panel by pivoting mechanisms so that the side, front and rear panels can fold open to create the modular structure. Spacer panels are connected between three of the four total side, front and rear panels. The spacer panels are necessary to provide clearance so that each of the panels can be folded onto the other already folded panels. In the folded configuration, shipping many more modular structures to final destinations is possible.

The partition further includes top and bottom brackets for attaching the markerboard to the partition frame. The bottom bracket defines a bottom channel that receives a bottom edge of the markerboard. The top bracket defines an opposing top channel that engages a top edge of the markerboard. The top bracket includes an inner component attached to the partition frame and defining an inner portion of the top channel. The top bracket further includes an outer component that is attached to the inner component and defines an outer portion of the top channel. The outer component is configured to be secured after the markerboard is set on the bottom bracket and is pivoted into engagement with the inner components so that, when secured, the outer component, the inner component, and the bottom bracket capture the markerboard.

The individual work stations are defined by wall panels connected to common lateral edges of the side panels and extending from the side panels at substantially right angles. Work surfaces and other accessories, like cabinets and shelves, are attached to the wall panels to complete the work stations and the central core functions as a common raceway for electrical, power and communication cabling. In addition, the connector for interconnecting the lateral edges of two adjacent side panels and a wall panel is adjustable to accommodate work stations having four or more side panels.
