摘要： A miter saw including a base, turntable, and circular saw unit supported to the turntable. A turntable is rotatable about its axis. The turntable has a tilting motion support. A support section has a tilt section tiltingly movable relative to the tilt motion support, and pivotally movably supports the circular saw unit. A clamp shaft is provided for clamping the tilting section to the tilt motion support. A tilt amount fine control unit is provided for performing fine control to the tilting angle, and includes an arcuate gear teeth section provided at the tilt motion support, rotation shaft for moving the arcuate gear teeth, and adjustment knob supported on the clamp shaft for rotating the rotation shaft. A neck table section is provided at a front side of the turntable, and includes a digital display for displaying a lateral tilting angle of the circular saw unit.

The main shaft is pivotally positioned in the main shaft holder, and the saw blade is fixed at the front end of the main shaft. The main shaft has its outer circumference equidistantly bored with plural locking holes. The worktable has its upper side bored with a positioning groove corresponding to the locking hole of the main shaft. The positioning groove is fitted with a locking pivot extending downward to form a positioning rod, which can be actuated to move up and down axially in the positioning groove and be inserted in one of the locking holes of the main shaft to fix the main shaft in position for facilitating disassembling of the saw blade.

The fence assembly is securable to the base plate at any position by clamping the fence assembly against the upper and lower surfaces of the base plate.

The machine includes a reaction system associated with the detection system to cause a predetermined action to take place relative to the working portion upon detection of the dangerous condition. A motion detection system is adapted to detect motion of the working portion and to disable the reaction system when the working portion is not moving. The motion detection system may include a sensor, such as a Hall effect sensor, an electromagnetic field sensor, an optical sensor, or an electrical sensor. The woodworking machine may take the form of a saw, the working portion may be a blade adapted to cut when spinning, and the dangerous condition may be a person contacting the blade.
