摘要： An apparatus for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object having a length has a sensor portion having a wire loop through which electric current runs and creates an electromagnetic field that emanates about the wire loop. The wire loop extending along at least a third of the length of the object. The apparatus has a personal alarm device that is worn by the individual which detects the presence of the magnetic field emanating from the wire loop when the personal alarm device is in the magnetic field and produces a signal indicating the personal alarm device is within the magnetic field. Alternatively, the sensor portion extends from a contiguous boundary up to 500 meters, where the boundary has a geometry that is linear or meandering. A head piece for an individual's head. A method for identifying when an individual is in proximity to an object. A field extension module. A proximity device.

摘要： A personal voltage detection system comprises a garment to be worn by a user and carrying a plurality of electric field sensors each facing a different direction. Each sensor comprises a transducer sensing electric field in transmitting a wireless signal representing field strength for an associated direction. An alert device is in operative communication with the plurality of sensors and comprises a control configured to monitor field strength for each sensor and determine existence of an alarm condition responsive to field strength being above a pre-select level and to generate an alarm signal indicating the associated direction of the alarm condition.

摘要： A detection system for detecting a dangerous condition for an operator using a power tool of the type which has an exposed blade relative to a work surface and a protection system for minimizing, if not eliminating the possibility of a user being injured by contacting the blade. In one preferred embodiment of the present invention, a proximity detection system is capable of detecting the presence of a user near the blade of a table saw and a protection system that can either retract the blade below the work surface of the table saw or terminate the drive torque to the blade which can result in rapid stopping of the saw blade by a work piece that is being cut.

In addition, a safety mechanism (14) for preventing prolonged user contact with the active portion (26) of a power tool (10) is provided. According to a first aspect, the safety mechanism (14) is arranged to rapidly displace the active portion (26) away from a user extremity. 摘要： A laser interlock system and allows laser radiation to be generated when an inspector and a subject correctly wear safety glasses and during use of a photo-acoustic imaging apparatus, thereby protecting the eyes of the inspector and the subject and preventing unnecessary power consumption. The laser interlock system includes a sensing unit to sense whether or not contact between a user and safety glasses occurs, a light source unit to generate a laser, and a control unit that determines, based on an output value from the sensing unit, whether or not the user is wearing the safety glasses normally, and generates an interlock signal to turn on or off the light source unit for selective laser generation according to the determination.

摘要： An apparatus and methods are described for protecting an operator from sudden, unexpected or dangerous movement of powered hand held tools and the like. A set of parameters for safe operation of the tool are provided, which parameters may be adjusted or selected based on the manner in which the tool is being operated. The power tool is fitted with sensors including an accelerometer, operating to sense acceleration of the tool in a plurality of axes during operation. The output of the accelerometer is coupled to a computing circuit which determines if the acceleration of the tool is within the safe operation parameters. When acceleration of the tool exceeds one or more of the safe operating parameters, power to the tool motor is limited or otherwise adjusted in order to prevent or reduce the movement of the tool thereby protecting the operator.
