    • Methods and systems for a subband acoustic echo canceller with integrated voice activity detection are disclosed and may include adjusting transmit and/or receive powers of wirelessly communicated audio signals based on voice activity detection via subband analysis of the wirelessly communicated audio signals. The receive power may be adjusted by utilizing a reduced duty cycle, or by conveying voice activity detection information via an asynchronous control channel in a Bluetooth application. A plurality of subbands may be generated utilizing a fast Fourier transform, and a first subset of the subbands corresponding to voice activity may be selected and a second subset of the subbands may be selected that corresponds to background noise. The processing of the subsets may be dynamically adjusted due to variations in the voice activity or background noise. Comfort noise may be generated and transmitted at a reduced bandwidth utilizing the second subset of the subbands.

    • Methods, systems, and apparatuses are provided for resolution-independent dither sample insertion for audio transmissions. Audio transmitters transmit audio data streams to audio receivers. Data inactivity in the data stream triggers the audio receivers to enter power-saving/sleep modes in which synchronization with the audio transmitters is lost thus requiring time consuming resynchronization. Inactivity such as silence or zero-value data is detected in a data stream. Upon detection, a dither sample is inserted into the data stream and transmitted to the audio receiver to prevent the loss of synchronization. The dither sample may have a negative value and be formatted for resolution-independence with respect to the audio receiver.

    • A personalized text-to-speech (pTTS) system provides a method for converting text data to speech data utilizing a pTTS template representing the voice characteristics of an individual. A memory stores executable program code that converts text data to speech data. Text data represents a textual message directed to a system user and speech data represents a spoken form of text data having the characteristics of an individual's voice. A processor executes the program code, and a storage device stores a pTTS template and may store speech data. The pTTS system can be used to provide various services that provide immediate spoken presentation of the speech data converted from text data and/or combine stored speech data with generated speech data for spoken presentation.

    • Systems and methods facilitating random number generation of hashes for video and/or audio are provided. In one embodiment, a system can include: a memory, and a microprocessor that executes computer executable components. The components can include a weighted distribution generation component that can generate a sampling distribution of a weighted combination of uniform distributions, and obtain a sample value from the sampling distribution. In one embodiment, horizontal regions of substantially equal area can be identified. The sample value can be obtained by selecting one of the horizontal regions, and uniformly selecting a coordinate from the horizontal region. The coordinate can correspond to a value on a horizontal axis of the sampling distribution, and the value can be equal to a sample value. The sample value can be employed to compute a hash employed in video and/or audio fingerprinting and/or in computing image descriptors for video.
