摘要： A method and interface module for communicating messages with a remote location and to provide access to an at least one intelligent electronic device (IED) operably connected to a communication network. The interface module is comprised of a central processing unit and an operating system operating the central processing unit. A network interface is operably connected with the communication network. A protocol task processes communication on the network according to first and second protocol stacks, wherein messages are assigned to either the first or second protocol stack. Messages assigned to the first protocol stack have a higher priority than messages assigned to the second protocol stack. A set of application tasks communicates with the protocol task for responding to an incoming message from the communication network and initiating an outgoing message to the communication network. An interconnection bus with an interface driver is operably connected with the at least one IED.

The machine controller and control device each generate a screen display and can be operated via the screen display. The operating unit is connected or can be connected for data transmission to both the machine controller and the control unit. Both of the machine controller and the control unit can be monitored and controlled by reproducing the original screen output from the machine controller and the control unit on the display screen of the operating unit, where new information can be entered. The information entered on the display screen of the operating unit is then transmitted back to the corresponding controller or unit associated with the reproduced screen display where the information was entered.

The system provides a remote access module that provides spraying system operation and parametric information to be monitored at the manufacturing site to determine how the spraying system is operating and whether repair or maintenance should be initiated. Timer circuits are provided for determining time of usage so that repair/replacement alerts can be issued. Safety related parameters may also be monitored as a backup to the primary monitoring performed at the customer's site. The system also provides an extranet or other suitable site available, for example, via the Internet or other communication link, is used to provide an accessible database for historical data and configuration/installation information. A call-in feature is also provided as well as a system query log.

摘要： Status information about the vacuum system is received by a server. A portion of the status information is formatted in response to a request from a web browser, and the formatted vacuum system information is forwarded to the web browser. Commands, including parameter values, can are entered by a user from the web browser, and implemented at the server or forwarded to the proper component in the vacuum system. A command or change history log of commands is maintained and forwarded to the web browser upon a request from the web browser. Status information includes information about an on-going regeneration of a pump in the vacuum system. Furthermore, regeneration can be controlled, i.e., started, stopped, parameters adjusted, in response to commands received from the web browser. Plural sets of regeneration parameters can be defined by a user from the web browser, and issued simultaneously to many devices. The vacuum system status information is be compared against one or more alarm definitions to determine whether an alarm exists, i.e., is “active.” Active alarms are sent to the web browser. Furthermore, a historical log of alarms is maintained and a portion of it forwarded to the web browser upon a request for alarm history. Alarms may be enabled or disabled individually by means provided to the browser. Means are provided to the browser to allow a user to specify alarm definitions.
