    • An environmental control and monitoring method is provided. An electronic communication including a selection of a climate control operational mode to modify an environment within a particular designated area is received from one of a plurality of environmental control and monitoring devices via a network, wherein each of the plurality of environmental control and monitoring devices include one or more climate control subsystems for modifying an environment within a designated area. The selection of the climate control operational mode is associated with a climate control parameter and the one of the plurality of environmental control and monitoring devices. An operation of a particular climate control subsystem of the one of the plurality of environmental control and monitoring devices is initiated to modify the environment within the particular designated area based on the climate control parameter. A usage parameter based on the operation of the particular climate control subsystem is received via the network. A billing message associated with a user is generated based on the usage parameter, and the billing message is transmitted to a billing system, wherein the billing message results in a charge to an account of the user.

    • A network operator radio module (NORM) configured to be removably attached to a barrier operator comprises a transmitting antenna, a receiving antenna, a transceiver antenna, and a microcontroller. The module communicates with a communication network that comprises various nodes configured by a network controller module and a network communication module. Each node may be associated with a network appliance, and may be remotely controlled by sending a suitable function code to the module via local command signals.     • A method and system are disclosed for providing enhanced user access to Profibus device diagnostic data and cyclic data in a distributed control system. After receiving input parameter data originating from a Profibus device message, the I/O module assembly performs steps for processing, maintaining and providing the input parameter data to a requesting control processor. The processing step includes extracting parameter values from a received Profibus device message. The extracted parameter values are then deposited in a repository on the I/O module assembly. The parameter values include both input and diagnostic parameter values. The diagnostic parameter values are provided to a workstation executing a Profibus device commissioning/configuring application in the form of data bits. The application generates a set of diagnostic text messages, based upon current values of diagnostic data bits representing diagnostic statuses of the Profibus device, by applying a configurable set of diagnostic message definitions to the diagnostic parameter data bits.
