摘要： Skin-contact products with a transpiration function such as medical devices or medicinal products, of which face masks, aspirators, ventilators, breast pumps or wound dressings are examples are described especially a skin-contact product with a transpiration function with an improved microclimate at a patient interface material-skin contact area. In an embodiment a material system (10, 20, 30) is described that comprises a hydrophobic silicone base material (11, 21, 31) and a hydrophilic silicone material (12, 22, 32) that is combined with the hydrophobic base material (11, 21, 31). At least a part of the hydrophilic material (12, 22, 32) is in contact with a moist surface (50). The hydrophobic base material (11, 21, 31) provides mechanical and dynamical stability of the material system (10, 20, 30). The hydrophilic material (12, 22, 32) allows for uptake or for diffusion of moisture away from moist surface (50). The material system (10, 20, 30) is utilized to fabricate a patient interface material (41) and forehead pad (42) of a user or patient interface, such as face mask (40), for example, a patient interface mask for positive air pressure therapy. Furthermore, a novel composition for the preparation of hydrophilic silicone materials, suitable for use in the material system (10, 20, 30), is disclosed.

Yet another aspect of the invention relates to a method for reducing lung volume in a patient comprising the step of administering a hydrogel composition as described herein. Further, hydrogels of the invention may be used to achieve pleurodesis, seal brochopleural fistulas, seal an air leak in a lung, achieve hemostasis, tissue sealing (e.g., blood vessels, internal organs), or any combination thereof. In certain embodiments, the compositions and methods described herein are intended for use in the treatment of patients with emphysema.

摘要： A porous material is provided which comprises a transparent polymer matrix defining interconnected pores and a wetting agent. At least a portion of the wetting agent is cross-linked with the polymer matrix. A process for forming a porous polymeric material is also provided. A bicontinuous microemulsion comprising water, a wetting agent, a monomer, and a surfactant copolymerizable with the monomer is polymerized, to form a polymer defining interconnected pores. The wetting agent comprises a cross-linkable wetting agent such that after polymerization, at least a portion of the cross-linkable wetting agent is cross-linked with the polymer. The wetting agent may comprise acrylated hyaluronic acid (AHA) such as methacrylated hyaluronic acid (MeHA). The wetting agent may also comprise a hyaluronic acid (HA). The wetting agent may include an unbonded portion that this releasable from the material. A contact lens may be made from the porous material.

摘要： It is intended to provide a resin foam which can be preferably used for medical use, and a flexible silicone type resin foam having a water-absorbing property. The resin foam which has a low toxicity and excellent physical properties for medical use such as moisture permeability, skin compatibility and low irritation can be obtained by using a resin which has a siloxane unit and an oxyalkylene unit in its molecular structure and does not contain a unit derived from an isocyanate group. Further, the flexible silicone type resin foam having a water-absorbing property can be obtained by allowing it to have a specific resin composition and a foam structure.
