摘要： The seat has a rotary recliner providing for selective pivotal movement of the seat back about an axis between occupiable and frontmost positions, and a dumped position therebetween. The improvement comprises a handle mounted on the back for movement between design and tipping positions, and an intermediate position therebetween; a member mounted on the back for pivotal movement therewith and for relative movement between first and second positions; a ring having a portion for, when the member is at its second position and the back is at its dumped position, engaging the member to arrest frontward pivotal movement thereof; and a first linkage for moving the member between its first and second positions upon movement of the handle between its design and intermediate positions and for controlling the recliner to permit said pivotal movement of the back when the handle is at its tipping position.

摘要： A seatback fitting assembly is provided with means to allow the complete forward rotation of the seatback, while remaining anchored to the seat structure, upon an excessive dynamic load or force impact on the seatback. This is accomplished by the use of a structural "breakover" device operating within the fitting assembly, which restrains the seatback within a limited, "forward tilt" range of motion under normal conditions, but allows complete forward rotation once load forces above an allowable level act on the seatback to cause a restraining pin to shear. A friction brake or clutch arrangement is provided to inhibit tilting of the seatback at all times but does not prevent the complete forward rotation of the seatback.

摘要： An apparatus is provided for adjusting a vehicle seat having a movable support member. The apparatus includes a first frame member and a second frame member pivotably articulated to the first frame member. A backrest is desirably mounted on the second frame member. First and second driven gears are rotatably mounted on the first frame member. The apparatus further includes a first transmission system for pivoting the second frame member in relation to the first frame member to change the inclination of the second frame member and a second transmission system for changing the position of the movable support member in relation to the second frame member. The first transmission system is activated in response to rotation of the first driven gear and the second transmission system is activated in response to rotation of the second driven year. A control element is provided for selectively engaging either the first driven gear to activate the first transmission system or the second driven gear to activate the second transmission system. In operation, the control element is selectively movable by an operator to its first position to permit the operator to change the inclination of the second frame member or to its second position to permit the operator to change the position of the movable support member.
