摘要： A light weight pneumatic tire having a thin side wall rubber is disclosed. The thin side wall rubber has previously been squeezed on that region of the outer surface of an upper ply which corresponds to the side wall portion of the tire prior to the tire shaping step, and has a Shore A hardness after vulcanization of 40.degree. to 55.degree., an excellent flex-cracking and weather resistant property. The upper ply is superimposed about at least a portion extending from a hump portion to a bead portion is composed of cords coated with a high resilient rubber. A tread rubber layer is extended across the thin side wall rubber layers and pressed and made integral therewith by stitching.

摘要： This invention provides a pneumatic tire for vehicle wheels having a carcass, a tread and a breaker structure. The breaker structure has at least two layers of parallel cords at an angle of 10.degree.-35.degree. and made of a material having a tensile strength of at least 260 kg/mm.sup.2. The cords of one layer are crossed with respect to those of the adjacent layer. The breaker structure also has at least one strip of textile cords made of a material which shrinks in length when heated. The tire also has in each sidewall, a reinforcing element of at least one layer of textile or metal cords inclined with respect to the circumferential lines of the tire and at least two layers of cords parallel to each other in each layer and crossed with respect to those of the adjacent layer.

The glass cords constituting the radial carcass are preferably interrupted under the breaker of the tire at the level of the equatorial plane forming two half carcasses which are substantially symmetrical. A substructure reinforcement layer may be placed under the breaker under the ends of such two half carcasses, the reinforcing layer having a width at least equal to the distance that separates the two half carcasses.
