The methods may include providing fibers to an article template, where the fibers have been treated with a coupling-initiator compound. They may further include providing a pre-polymerized mixture that includes a monomer and a catalyst to the article template. The combination of the fibers and the pre-polymerized mixture may be heated to a polymerization temperature where the monomers polymerize around the fibers and form at least a portion of the composite article. The article may then be removed from the article template. Examples of the fiber-reinforced composite articles may include wind turbine blades for electric power generation.

Other related methods are also described.

摘要： Disclosed is a microporous polyethylene film for a battery separator and a method of producing the same. The microporous polyethylene film comprises a resin mixture, which includes 100 parts by weight of composition containing 20-50 wt % polyethylene with a weight average molecular weight of 5×104-3×105 (component I) and 80-50 wt % diluent (component II), 0.1-2 parts by weight of peroxide (component III), and 0.05-0.5 parts by weight of anti-oxidant (component IV). The microporous polyethylene film has a puncture strength of 0.22 N/μm or more and a gas permeability (Darcy's permeability constant) of 1.3×10−5 Darcy or more. The present invention increases production efficiency of the microporous film, and improves performances and stability of the battery when the microporous polyethylene film is used in a battery separator.

摘要： Methods of making a molded display form (i.e. a mannequin) or other article are provided, of an elastomeric material having a pigment and/or dye mixed therein, said form having a selected uniform color throughout the thickness of said material. Any desirable color may be selected, e.g., skin color (to approximate that of any race) grey, tan, red, blue, yellow, metallic colors such as gold and silver, and mixtures thereof. White and black molded articles are also provided herein. The processes of this invention are especially suitable for producing articles having a uniform color throughout without streaking. The forms of this invention are non-brittle, resist burning, and stand up well to high temperatures. If they are scraped or chipped, the uniform color of the material throughout will make the injury less noticeable. The material is also soft enough that seam lines may eliminated by buffing with synthetic pads, and because of the uniform color of the material, there is no need to paint over the buffed surface.

摘要： The invention relates to a method and installation for the purpose of manufacturing centrifuged glass fibre-reinforced synthetic material pipes, wherein liquid curable resin, which can contain a filler, together with glass fibres and additives for the curing process, possibly also with sand, is introduced into a rotating mould. With respect to the mould temperature as the raw materials are introduced, the quantity and type of additives are adapted in a successive manner such that gelling commences in the outer part of the pipe when the last part of the raw materials is introduced. Upon gelling, the temperature is lower in the outer part than in the inner part and gelling only commences in the inner part of the pipe after all of the raw materials have been introduced.

摘要： The invention provides that flexible lining tubes for application to underground pipelines and passageways comprise absorbent material which is impregnated with curable synthetic resin which can be cured when the tube is placed on the pipeline or passageway surface so that a rigid pipe within the pipe is formed. The curing of the resin is controlled by filling the curing agent into micropores or microporous particles which are dispersed throughout the resin. The curing agent is only released when the resin is subjected to applied energy such as sonic and/or heat energy. A preferred method is to include CURIE temperature magnetic particles in the resin and to excite (and thus heat) the magnetic particles by applying an alternating high frequency magnetic field. The heat from the magnetic particles opens the microporous particles and causes desorbence of the curing agent and then cure of the resin. The invention also provides that the curing agent is absorbed into the absorbent layer in the first place using sonic energy.
