    • A method and a piece of sculpture made with the method, begins by forming a first three-dimensional transparent member having a selected surface which is intended to become a visible embedded surface in the sculpture. Acrylic resin is preferred for the first member but other clear cast material can also be used. A film of water or alcohol soluble material, preferably PVA with or without additive and solvent, is sprayed onto the selected surface, preferably using an air brush. The film is allowed to dry and the first member with the film is placed in a mold having a cavity with a shape of the final sculpture product, the cavity having room for at least part of the first member, and a void corresponding to the shape of a second member. The selected surface is at least partly exposed to this void in the mold. The mold is then filled a transparent castable liquid material, which may also be acrylic resin, and the contents of the mold are cured to form the sculpture.

    • Systems and cold rotational molding methods are provided for making hollow, foam-backed polymeric molded articles. The molded articles can be manikins or manikin parts, or other articles, such as frames (e.g. for mirrors and pictures), urns, fixtures, furniture, display props, and garden furniture, made of a thermosetting elastomeric material. The articles are more structurally rigid than previous molded articles utilizing the same amount of polymer material, lighter in weight than previous molded articles having the same structural rigidity, and more resistant to deformation under temperatures up to 180 to 185.degree. F. The process of making a molded manikin part, from the first injection of polymer into the mold until demolding of the finished part, can be completed in as short a time as 18 minutes without the necessity for cradling of the demolded part, even when the part requires one or more flat surfaces.

    • An assembly (10 and 12), the construction of which makes up a taxidermy core or form for small mammals, has a limbless main body (10) and attachable/detachable locking legs (12). Locking is predominantly achieved by a male post (14) inserting inside a female receptive lock (16). When the specimen animal is being mounted, the assembly's parts (10 and 12) are serially slid in through the taxidermist's working opening in the sock-like skin, the succession in general being forelimbs (12) first, then rear limbs (12) or the main body (10). The parts (10 and 12) once slid inside can be shifted about until the male posts (14) and the female receptive locks (16) are engaged. The positional stability of the legs (12) relative to the main body (10) is enhanced by a body key (18).
