    • A medicine mixing device includes a pedestal, a main rotating-base, a sub rotating-base, and a control unit. The pedestal is used to place medicine containers thereon. The main rotating-base includes a holding portion and a main rotating shaft, and rotates around the main rotating shaft. The holding portion holds a syringe for sucking a medicine at its center on its vertical plane. The main rotating shaft is orthogonal to the vertical plane. The sub rotating-base is disposed close to a part of the circumference of the main-rotating base and rotates relatively with respect to the main rotating-base. The sub rotating-base includes a fixing unit and a sub rotating shaft parallel to the main rotating shaft. The fixing unit fixes thereto one medicine container selected from the medicine containers on the pedestal. The control unit controls a medicine to be sucked out of the medicine container into the syringe.

    • An optical disc clamp mechanism that is capable of selectively playing back either of a compact disc or a mini disc. The clamp mechanism includes a circular disc receiving section for contacting a reference surface of either of the compact disc or the mini disc and further includes a magnetic clamp unit for clamping the mini disc by magnetic attraction with a magnetically attractable member of the mini disc. A first conical or spherical taper cone portion for engaging the center hole of the mini disc is mounted to the disc receiving section and a second conical or spherical taper cone portion for engaging the center hole of the compact disc is mounted to the disc receiving section. The first taper cone portion is located inwardly of the second taper cone portion and protrudes from the second taper cone portion in the axial direction. The magnetic clamp unit further includes a stopper element for preventing detachment of the first and second taper cone portions from the disc receiving section. Accordingly, the optical disc clamp mechanism independently affects the centering of a mini disc and a compact disc to allow either of the discs to be centered.

    • An optical head is mounted in an optical disk apparatus that optically records or reproduces information on or from an information recording medium having a magnetooptical effect. The optical head includes a laser diode for emitting a P-polarized beam and a first hologram element on which the P-polarized beam is incident and which diffracts the P-polarized beam more in zeroth order than in higher orders but diffracts an S-polarized beam perpendicular to the P-polarized beam more in higher orders than in zeroth order. The zeroth order P-polarized beam emitted from the laser diode is focused on the information recording medium by the first hologram element or an objective lens interposed between the first hologram element and the information recording medium. One or more second hologram elements are placed between the first hologram element and the laser diode and split a beam reflected from the information recording medium and then diffracted by the first hologram element into beams having respective planes of polarization perpendicular to each other. A plurality of optical detectors for detecting the beams transmitted through the second hologram elements are disposed in line with the laser diode.
