    • Method and arrangement for providing an energy converter that includes a combustion system (1) including at least one piston (2, 3), at least one combustion chamber (6, 7) having at least one inlet (11, 13) and at least one outlet (10, 12) with inlet and outlet valves (14, 15, 16, 17). At least one controllable inlet valve and at least one outlet valve is also provided. A fuel supply is provided (18, 19) for supplying fuel and a medium containing oxygen is provided for induction into the combustion chamber (6, 7). An electric machine (9) is arranged to interact directly or indirectly with the piston (2, 3) in an electromagnetic manner such that it produces electrical energy from the piston movements, as well as uses electrical energy to affect the piston movement. A control unit (30) controls the combustion system (1) and the electric machine (9).The energy converter is arranged to adapt its power output depending on the required load of the energy converter. The invention also relates to a method for starting an energy converter.

    • A method and arrangement for control of a combustion engine (11) having control elements (4, 5, 17) for generation of an air/fuel mixture to each cylinder (3) of the engine (1), an exhaust system (7, 8) which is connected to the engine (1), an exhaust catalyst (10) and a NOx absorbent (11) which are provided in the exhaust system (7, 8), which method comprises: control of the control elements (4, 5, 17) in a first operating condition for generation of a comparatively lean exhaust gas mixture to the NOx adsorbent (11) for adsorption of NOx compounds in the exhaust gas mixture, and control of the control elements (4, 5, 17) in a second operating condition for generation of a comparatively rich exhaust gas mixture to the NOx absorbent (11) for desorption of NOx compounds in the exhaust gas mixture. The invention is characterized in that it comprises: detection of whether at least one condition in the vehicle prevails which corresponds to an initiation of a change-over from the first operating condition to the second operating condition, wherein all adjustment of the air/fuel mixture to the engine (1) is carried out, wherein the generation of a rich exhaust gas mixture is initiated for desorption of NOx compounds in the NOx adsorbent (11) depending on the conditions.

    • The present invention relates to a sensor for detection of oxides of nitrogen forming part of a gas, including a substrate consisting of a solid electrolyte on which a conductive pattern is arranged which includes at least two parts forming an anode and a cathode, a current being produced in the sensor in the presence of oxides of nitrogen and the anode and the cathode being connected to an external voltage source which is adapted to drive the current and to means for measuring the current, which constitutes a measure of the concentration of oxides of nitrogen in the gas. The sensor is adapted to generate the current by means of a transport of oxygen ions in the sensor which essentially originates from oxides of nitrogen being part of the gas, independently from the content of oxygen in the gas.
