摘要： The present invention relates to a composition being an aqueous dispersion of a polyurethane in water, said composition comprising water and the reaction product of (a) a water-dispersible isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer having an isocyanate content of between 1 and 15% by weight. The prepolymer comprises the following: an organic polyisocyanate adduct mixture having an average isocyanate functionality of between 2.0 and 4.0, and (b) an isocyanate reactive chain extender having a specified ratio of isocyanate reactive moiety to isocyanate index of the polyisocyanate adduct mixture. The polyisocyanate mixture must contain some dimer; however, other polyisocyanates, such as diisocyanates and polyisocyanate trimers, are advantageously added to the mixture. Also disclosed is a process for preparing this composition, and a method for coating a substrate with the composition.

摘要： This invention relates to a method of fabricating a thermoplastic elastomer which comprises the steps of: (a) fabricating a polyol having a molecular weight of between about 2,000 and about 8,000 and having a level of end group unsaturation of no greater than 0.02 milliequivalents per gram of polyol, said polyol being fabricated in the presence of a double metal cyanide catalyst, (b) reacting said polyol with a diisocyanate to produce an isocyanate-terminated prepolymer, and (c) reacting said isocyanate-terminated prepolymer with a difunctional isocyanato-reactive chain extender in a mold or in an extruder in order to produce an elastomer characterized by a hardness of between a Shore A hardness of about 50 and a Shore D hardness of about 65. Also claimed is the elastomer produced by the above method utilizing a one-shot technique.

摘要： A molecular sieve trap is disclosed for selective trapping of substances in a gas stream, the trap being particularly useful in systems for detecting nitrogen compounds such as N-nitrosamines or nitrogen oxides in a sample. The trap comprises a cartridge containing a packing of a granular adsorbent molecular sieve material with a carefully controlled pore size of about ten angstroms and a preference for adsorbing polar substances. The packing readily passes NO and NO.sub.2 gases in a gas stream directed through the trap while trapping and retaining larger and/or more polar molecules such as those of double-bonded carbon compounds and sulfur compounds which could otherwise interfere with subsequent measurement of the NO or NO.sub.x content of the gas stream. An N-nitroso compound detection system incorporating the molecular sieve trap is described wherein the molecular sieve trap is interposed between a pyrolyzer and a chemiluminescent NO detector to selectively trap substances in the reactor effluent. Also disclosed is a NO.sub.x detection system having a molecular sieve trap in a sample inlet line of a NO.sub.x detector.
