    • PURPOSE: An expandable crank arm using a cylindrical cam, an end cam, or a swash plate is provided to get large torque with same force in a pushing section. CONSTITUTION: One end of a fixed arm(1) is combined to a rotary shaft of a rotator in order to transfer the torque. A cam guide(13) which is meshed with a guide groove or a guide protrusion of a cylindrical cam(3) is formed on the side wall of the fixed arm. A movable arm(2) slides in the longitudinal direction inside the fixed arm. A pedal(4) includes a pedal axis(41) and a pedal plate(42). The pedal axis is combined in the exposed end of the movable arm. A pair of bevel gears(5) is connected to the pedal axis and a cam axis.

A pedal is composed of a pedal shaft(41) coupled with an exposed end of the moving arm, and pedal plates(42). The pedal plates are coupled with the pedal shaft so as to prevent relative rotation. A pair of bevel gears are respectively coupled with a cam shaft of the cylindrical cam and the pedal shaft of the pedal.

    • PURPOSE: A variable type pedal driving device is provided to gain maximal driving energy with minimal physical energy consumption by extending a length thereof during travel between a crankshaft delivering torque of a pedal to a rear wheel and the pedal. CONSTITUTION: A pedal driving device consists of power delivery units(6,6') delivering drive power of pedal to a main shaft, installed in cases fixed in a main shaft established in a frame(1), pedals(7,7') combined to slide pipes(8,8'), crankshafts(5,5') slidably combined to slide holes and a chain sprocket(9) connected to a rear wheel(15) and to a chain(16). On stepping upon the pedals, torque enables the pedals to rotate the crankshafts and the slide pipes combined with the pedals sliding along the crankshafts. Further, rotational radius between the main shaft with crankshafts and the pedals is varied and distance therebetween is enlarged maximally during rotation in a proceeding direction. Thereby, distance among pedals(7,7') offering travel energy, rotating shafts(61,61') of cases as a main moving shaft of torque and a main shaft of disks drives the pedals and rotational direction is enlarged maximally while driving in a proceeding direction and thus efficient driving energy is obtained.
