    • An image reading apparatus with a paper-pressing member is provided to reduce radiation of electromagnetic noise induced to the paper-pressing member to a scanning module to achieve a stabilized operation of the scanning module and meet the allowable standards for the electromagnetic noise. An image reading apparatus includes a flat glass plate(50,51) on which a document is placed, an automatic document feeder(10), and a scanning module(90). The automatic document feeder is located on the flat glass plate and moves the document placed on the flat glass plate in a sub-scanning direction. The automatic document feeder includes a pressing member which elastically presses the moved document. The scanning module is located on the backside of the flat glass plate and moved along the sub-scanning direction. The scanning module is stopped at a first position opposite to the pressing member when reading the moved document. The scanning module is moved to a second position in a standby state in order to avoid electromagnetic noise induced to the pressing member.

    • A scan unit including an EMI noise shielding part and an image forming apparatus having the same are provided to enhance the economical efficiency in the cost aspect by manufacturing an FFC fixing unit with the material which has an EMI noise shielding. A scan unit comprises a manuscript holder, a reading module, an FCC(150) and an EMI noise shielding part(180). The manuscript holder supports a manuscript, and the reading module is installed at a lower side of the manuscript holder to perform reciprocation. The reading module includes an image sensor for reading an image of the manuscript and generating image signals. The FCC is connected to the reading module, and acts as a passage for delivering power and the image signals. The EMI noise shielding part blocks the noise generated when the image signals of the reading module are transmitted.

    • An image forming apparatus and a control method using a halftone process unit producing the half tone image are provided to reduce electromagnetic interference quantity generated when the half tone image is transmitted through cable. A half tone processor(110) compares the index of a halftone table and raw image data corresponding to an applicable pixel from a first storage(121) and a second storage(122). According to a comparison result, the halftone process part performs the conversion to 0 level or 1 level raw image data. The halftone process unit produces the half tone image. The halftone table comprises a plurality of dot areas and non-dot areas of the different type.
