摘要： An image reading device and a method thereof are provided to make the signal beam which is obtained by reading a scanned object, insensitive to the defocus, and correct a dim image by a signal processing method. A light source unit(20) irradiates the light on the scan area of a scanned object which is put on a transparent plate. An image sensor(50) converts an optical signal which is obtained by reading the scan area into an electrical signal. A focus state detecting unit detects the focus state of the scanned object. If the focus state detecting unit determines that the focus of the light is incorrect on the scanned object, a wavefront coding unit(40) modulates the wavefront of light reflected from the scan area and then makes the light inputted into the image sensor in the state of being insensitive to the defocus.
