    • PURPOSE: A network card having a power supply unit is provided to allow terminal users to share information and connect to an external communication network even though power supply to a master computer is cut off. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of access terminals(201,202/1-202/n) of a network card(200) are connected to a network card of a different terminal by an RJ-45 port. A hub(240) is connected to the access terminals(201/1-201/n). A second Ethernet controller(231) is connected to the hub(240). A bus bridge(232) is connected between the second Ethernet controller(231) and a but slot(250). A controller(220) connected to the hub(240) provides an IP sharing function. A first Ethernet controller(210) connected to the controller(220) connects terminals to an external communication network. An external power supply unit(260) activates the network card(200) according to input of internal power(Vcc) or external power(Vcc_et). A power supply unit(263) senses internal power(Vcc) of a corresponding terminal and external power(Vcc_et) supplied to the network card(200), and supplies the external power(Vcc_et) to one chip(230) and to an activation region(300) consisting of the hub(240), a first Ethernet controller(210) and the controller(220) if the internal power(Vcc) is cut off.

    • PURPOSE: An ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) connection apparatus and an ADSL system using the same are provided to directly connect an ADSL to a conventional Ethernet network, compose a local network capable of distributing a traffic, and easily perform subscriber management. CONSTITUTION: An ADSL interface unit(51) is connected with the N number of ADSLs. An ADSL signal to ATM cell signal converting unit(52) is connected with the ADSL interface unit(51). A CPU(55) is connected with the ADSL signal to ATM cell signal converting unit(52) through an ATM bus, and performs a certain application process including an IP assignment and routing to a subscriber associated with an application layer to an ATM cell signal. A memory unit(54) stores an operation program of the CPU(55) and various data requested when performing the application process. An Ethernet interface unit(53) is connected between the CPU(55) and an Ethernet network, converts the ATM cell signal from the CPU(55) into an Ethernet frame signal composed as the application layer and an Ethernet layer, and converts an Ethernet frame signal transmitted from the Ethernet network into an ATM signal.

    • PURPOSE: An ADSL(asymmetric digital subscriber line) subscriber terminal is provided to service multimedia application programs of high speed by directly accessing in the ADSL subscriber terminal of an ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) exchange. CONSTITUTION: An ATM(asynchronous transfer mode) subscriber interface module(100) performs an accessing function of ADSL line by composing of an ATM layer processor(110) to communicate with a switching network, to distribute by mixing and dividing a clock with receiving a synchronous signal, to process an OAM function(operation, administration and maintenance) and to manage a subscriber and an ADSL(asymmetric digital subscriber line) subscriber processor(120) of 16boards to accept four ADSL subscribers for each board. The ATM layer processor(110) sends a starting signal of transmitting cell to inform the start of 16bit data and the transmitting cell into the ADSL subscriber processor(120) through a transmitting/receiving cell bus. When the starting signal of receiving cell to inform the start of receiving 16bit data, the receiving cell and the requesting signal of cell receiving to request the receiving of cell from the ADSL subscriber processor(120), the ATM layer processor sends a permitting signal of cell receiving to permit the receiving of cell to the ADSL subscriber processor(120) requesting the receiving of cell. An ADSL subscriber terminal for an ATM(120) is accessed with an ATM switching board through an ADSK line(200) and offers an ATM data service of high speed by processing a transmitted and received ATM cell.
