    • PURPOSE: A device and a method for amplifying an electric signal are provided, which is related to an apparatus and method for utilizing a correction loop amplifier in conjunction with a main signal amplifier to reduce output signal distortion. CONSTITUTION: A device and a method use a correction loop amplifier(202) together with a main amplifier(204) in order to reduce total harmonic distortion while amplifying a signal. The correction loop amplifier(202) is preferably provided with an input end coupled directly to a first input end of the main amplifier(204) and an output end coupled to a second input end of the main amplifier through a resistor. A second input end of the correction amplifier(202) is preferably coupled with a signal input end through a voltage divider or RC network.

    • PURPOSE: A DC offset tracking circuit is provided to broaden a dynamic range of an amplifier circuit by providing a feedback signal to a non-inverting input of a second amplifier. CONSTITUTION: First and second amplifiers(105,110) respectively include an inverting input and a non-inverting input and output. A transconductance amplifier(155) is combined between the output of the first and second amplifiers and the non-inverting input of the second amplifier. The non-inverting input of the first amplifier receives a single-ended input signal. The output of the first and second amplifiers provides a differential output signal. A feedback loop receives the output from the first and second amplifiers. The feedback loop provides a feedback signal to the non-inverting input of the second amplifier.
