    • PURPOSE: A secondary battery and a module thereof are provided to improve durability of a current break device against vibration or impact, to secure safety for overcharging, and to reduce resistance of the current break device. CONSTITUTION: A secondary battery includes: a case(20) accommodating an electrode group(10) including a first electrode(12) and a second electrode(11); a cap plate(30); an electrode terminal(41) which is electrically insulated with the cap plate and protrudes to a first side of the cap plate by being electrically connected o the first electrode; and a current break device(200) which electrically connects the second electrode and the cap plate and blocks electrical contact when charged to a set voltage or more.

    • Provided is a battery pack, which improves safety of a battery by blocking a charge/discharge route immediately after gas is detected in the vicinity of a safety vent. The battery pack(100) comprises: at least one rechargeable battery(110); a control part(120) that detects voltage of the battery(110) and outputs certain control signals according to the detection result; charge and discharge switches(130) that are installed on a charge/discharge route of the battery(110) and turn a charge/discharge state of the battery(110) on/off; and a gas sensor(140) that is installed at a predetermined position of the battery(110) and detects gas generating from the battery(110). The control part(120) turns the charge/discharge switches off when the gas sensor(140) detects gas.
