    • PURPOSE: A photoelectric conversion module is provided to reduce an optical loss and improve optical coupling efficiency. CONSTITUTION: An integrated circuit substrate(110) is mounted on a printed circuit substrate. An optical waveguide array is formed on the integrated circuit. A first electrode pad and a second electrode pad are formed on one sidewall of the integrated circuit. An optical device array(120) includes a first electrode bump and a second electrode bump which are connected to the first and second electrode pads on one side opposite to the integrated circuit board. An optical device is installed in the center of the optical device array. A semiconductor chip(140) is mounted on the upper side of the integrated circuit board.

    • PURPOSE: A connector type optical transceiver using a silicon-on-insulator(SOI) optical waveguide, is provided to use a flat SOI optical waveguide instead of using an optical fiber, and to form a V-type groove in a silicon bench instead of fixing a mechanically transferable reinforced jacket(MT-RJ) connector in an optical transceiver module to directly install a guide pin, so that parts can be reduced and processes can be simplified. CONSTITUTION: An optical element is included. A silicon-on-insulator(SOI) optical waveguide(7) has a silicon board, an optical waveguide and a thin film layer. The optical waveguide is formed with a silicon single crystal layer. The thin film layer is formed between the silicon board and the optical waveguide, and cuts off the spreading of transmitted light. A silicon bench(6) forms U-type grooves(62) stably installing the optical element and the optical waveguide. A silicon cover covers the optical element and the optical waveguide installed on the silicon bench(6). Accordingly an optical path is formed through the optical element and the optical waveguide. The silicon bench(6) forms a U-type groove(61) for guide pins vertically to be connected with an external optical fiber. The guide pin(15) is formed on the U-type groove(61), and an optical transceiver is easily attached and detached to/from an external connection terminal by the guide pin(15).
